TEFL Teachers!!!
Hi, I'm about to finish my TEFL certification course (yay), and I want to find some other TEFL/ESL teachers, talk about online teaching, how to prepare to start, things to look out for when looking for TEFL jobs online, etc.
Welcome!
Hello and welcome to TEFL Teacher Wannabe!
In this blog you will find the entire 150 hours Master TEFL course completely free of charge, however beware that the content found in this blog will not grant you an actual TEFL certification. If you wish to obtain a certification you will have to purchase the course and complete the quizzes and assignments that come with it.
The content you will find here is exclusively for educational purposes: whether you are considering to start a full TEFL course but you're unsure of whether it would suitable for you or not, or you want to take on an ESL job that doesn't require a TEFL certification but you'd like to have some sort of foundations before diving in, this is the right place where to start.
Unfortunately Tumblr doesn't allow to arrange posts in chronological order but don't worry, everything will be sorted very neatly in different chapters to allow a smoother experience!

Day 2
Outlined my TEFL journal reflection
Post-it-ized my outline (points from) for my GWtW essay
Collected quotes for my GWtW essay
Did a short yoga practice
Showered
I didn't sleep well last night so today was not super productive.
I also watched Cinderella and Cinderella III with my family, but I didn't feel like it counted as productive, so it's not on the list.
Some things this TEFL course had made me realise:
1. I really am a grammar nerd fucking hell I have problems
2. The pronunciation of the ‘d’ in ‘talked’ is different to that of the ‘d’ in ‘listened’ (/t/ vs /d/) and my mind is blown, I literally never realised this and I’m p sure I never learned it in school (I'm not sure this is the case for American English or Australian English, but it definitely is in British English!)
3. English really is a clusterfuck nightmare, like I was already aware of that but jfc how do any of you learn this shit. Like sometimes it pretends to have rules and then it just. fucks you up. wow. You’ve got sink sank sunk and drink drank drunk and then think comes up to you and is like HAHA thought and then there’s verbs like to read which is like HAHA read but it’s pronounced differently. Fuck English omg.
4. The amount I am invested in the students in the classroom demonstrations is making me think this is genuinely a good career choice for me, like I’m literally sat here like “YES Phillipe I’m so proud of you you form that present perfect you precious lil cookie”

07.06.2020 // Week 11 of the 2020 Quarantine Challenge
Hi, I’m back! It’s been a wild couple weeks, but I’m finally getting back into the groove again. Yesterday I finally started my online TEFL Certification course! As annoying as all the multiple choice quizzes are, I’m really glad to be doing some low-stakes learning and actually gaining practical skills. It feels very different from learning academic skills, and it’s addicting! You can see how much I’ve worked through in just a couple days haha. If we’re being real, I might just finish the whole course in one week instead of three weeks... 👀
