So Lil Nas X has to deal with the right-wing, conservative brand of homophobia; calling him a super spreader, saying his sexuality is a sin, telling him he is going to hell for being gay. But now he also has to deal with this new left-wing, liberal brand of homophobia. He's transphobic, he needs to unlearn his genital preferences, he's a bigot for not wanting to date transmen.

Actual gay people are under attack from all sides of the political spectrum. I hope Lil Nas X is able to continue being unashamed and proud of his healthy, normal same-sex attraction. The hate he has been receiving is scary and even the supposed 'woke,' liberal, gay allies are not on his side.

new project

i came up with the idea to review blocklists and disaggregate the demographic info of those on the lists, then report on the findings

i think it would be good to let people know if a blocklist is 80% homosexuals or 60% bisexual women or whatever it is, because if someone posts a lists that advocates for the blocking of primarily marginalized people they should reckon with that

in order to do this we’d need to create a spreadsheet that has this data in it, so we can pull and cross reference with the blocklists.  this can be done with a google form, but i’m curious if anyone has thoughts on this idea and specifically what demographic data should be collected, before a form is created. just urls and the sort of info most people have in their bios, i think. any and all thoughts welcome

getting on a blocklist is fun and sexy and hilarious, but we cannot lose sight of their purpose: to isolate and silence marginalized people who dare to dissent

a REALLY transphobic essay was posted on ao3 that I will NOT be linking to, if you want to read that shit, you're gonna have to dig. and this is because the good omens fandom has, implausible though it may seem for a fandom where the main pairing doesn't have genitals unless they REALLY want to, become a toxic, terf-y, tehm-y place.

that essay got tweeted out by my bot, because it just tweets whatever ends up in the aziraphale/crowley tag. as soon as it was brought to my attention, I deleted the tweet. I then retroactively went back and deleted tweets linking to terf-y fics (that I knew of). just because I could and I was feeling spiteful.

anyway, someone in the comments on ao3 is arguing that it's homophobic to say aziraphale and crowley don't have genitals, and, just, WHAT THE HAIRY FUCK, because the thing is THEY DO NOT.

you can't use shinigami eyes on ao3 for whatever reason, and it doesn't seem like you can block people on their, either, which is really unfortunate, but if you know of any names of terf authors or just in fandom to be on the lookout for, lemme know, thx
