Ok, this is gonna be a post in spanglish because, holly shit, i know nothing! I've always been aware, somehow, of the existence of hawthorns. Never knew what they looked like but i knew they existed. Draco Malfoy's wand was made of hawthorn wood. Just the other day i posted a quote i love from a song i like about a hawthorn tree. Y toda la vida tragando tejocotes con loca pasión desenfrenada porque para qué quiere uno que llegue el fin de año si no es para comer tejocotes en piloncillo hasta reventar.
Y hoy me vengo enterando tejocote (Crataegus mexicana) = mexican hawthorn!
Just found it because sort of jokingly but not really, i told my mom i would get a tejocote tattooed in her honor because i've always wanted to get something to remind me of her but never knew what, but since she not only shares my love for tejocotes y toda clase de frutas en piloncillo but she introduced me to them, i thought, yeah, a tejocote tattoo is perfect! And she laughed because "¿cómo te vas a tatuar un tejocote?" So i thought, debe tener una flor... And it does; it is the daintiest, cutest little shit of a flower and now i really want to get a branch of tejocote blossoms and fruits on my arm. ☺️
