The king of harvests. What is Teklan like? The people would tell you that he is jovial and hard working, but they have little idea. No one has seen Teklan in thousands of years. He has blended himself among civilization since it was formed. He fulfills prayers sent his way and is unrecognizable on the street. This is probably for the better, because learning he is nothing much besides a drunkard may be a horrifying revelation.
April 2016
This was a knock-out. Seems like every night I would have to report to Kristin on what I had read that day. She lost interest at the timeline jump, but I kept going. The breadth of information and imagination in this book is truly (hate the word, but) epic. While I think I prefer the dense hard science of the the first 2/3′s of the book, along with the dread and doom premise, the last bit was pretty great as well. The premise played hard on low level anxiety about how the end of the world could actually might inevitably happen. I’ll never look at the moon the same way again. I went out and bought Nate a book on how to be an astronaut so at least one of my children will survive if anything like what’s described in this book comes to pass. Just in case.
