This question may be as old as time but what to do when you start falling for your friend?

ah yes it definitely is lol. i answered a question similar to this here actually. but overall i would just do my best to see if that friend was sending signals of liking me back, and then if so i would probably try and go for it. i think that it’s much better to take chances on things because you never really know where it will take you, instead of regretting the things you could have possibly done. honestly this situation is always sticky and it’s different for each friendship which makes it hard to effectively give advice, but for the most part i would say try going for it. it’s only natural that you would like your friend eventually and that they maybe will like you eventually too. are there chances of it ruining the friendship? of course that is always a possibility as well. but if you guys are close i feel like this is something you could possibly work past with time even if they did not like you back. and there is always the possibility of them liking you back as well. the only way you can know for sure is by going for it and seeing what happens. i wish you the best of luck and tell me how it goes <3
