@guttersniper​: this is paul’s son...he loves him so much! and i love him so much, and i love LANEY so much. she’s creative and talented and funny and makes me happy to talk to. and mutt is very important to paul and he’s well written and thought out and multifaceted and we love him. he’s gonna stick by that kid no matter what...

@telepathicstars: i love all of serena’s ocs but i’ll stick with ania bc she’s the one most important to paul. and serena’s so important to me, she makes me so happy n makes me feel loved and i think everyone should try to make serena feel the same. and ania is! special to paul. she knows him in a way that’s so unique and despite his objections i think he needs that. 

@serenitystored: listen i don’t know anything about a lot of adam’s fandoms or ocs but i know i love him and so i know i love them. the ones i’ve written with i’ve always loved. even if i dont know abt them i’ll still write with them because i love adam and i love him. he’s so creative with them and has so much LORE. 

@gnarxta / @varhanas: LISTEN this dude drops in outta nowhere n leaves me a huge ass reply and then dips and i love it. i love our threads they make me happy and they make PAUL happy. there’s a character thats mushrooms i mean come ON. paul’s so THRILLED about it. and the rest of the characters!! they also have so much lore and i love it i love how deep the world is that they’ve built and i love the characters in it.

She is beautiful, he knows.  Even he, who is dense to ignorant to humanity (figuratively, as the case may be) even without the barrier of sexuality, knows that.  And she is so different from him. So, entirely different.

Ania just used you and your lab to get experience for Starfleet. She didn't actually care about any of you. That's why she never came back after she left. She had what she needed already.

“She could have just said that, if that were true. Certainly that would have been easier than pretending to care about me.” It could have been true, he supposed, but he didn’t know why it would be. Her affection seemed pure and genuine, and he didn’t know why she would have put so much effort into the chore of being his friend when he would have respected this accused ambition.

Ania stands outside of Paul's quarters -- rings a chime, puts on a beam and presents a bouquet so the moment the door slides open, all he can see is flowers. "Happy birthday, mushroom nerd!" A sing-song, excitable voice. / aniamoore

IT’S PAUL’S BIRTHDAY

He should have expected it, really, but he’s still caught off guard—surprised, confused—to open the door to see only flowers. Of course it’s Ania. He smiles at the bouquet, though he’s not sure if she can see him any more than he can see her. “Thank you,” he says, trying to glance around the blossoms to find her, with little success. He reaches out to take them, to expose his friend. “They’re beautiful.”

“–Yeah.” He shifts. Blinks once. Twice. Looks at her. “Yeah, just–” he runs a hand over his face. “Tired.”

He looks at her for a long moment, trying to gather something from her expression, but he can’t see much aside from the clear objection she just voiced. He never has been as good with the emotions of others as she is. “Why shouldn’t I?”

“So you can hear about it in my head?” He’s fine with it, usually, but right now there’s something about the idea that makes him uncomfortable. He’s not sure he really believes it’s her driving purpose, either, and he knows she would still hear what he thought whether she wanted to or not, but sometimes his desire to be a private person shows itself too much. “You can’t say it’s not true, because I know you can.”
