Your unpopular spirit animals opinions?

Ooooooh okay. Good one, anon.

These are probably lukewarm takes, but I don't have anything hotter. I love everyone in this series. I can't fault the writing because Spirit Animals was marketed towards children. And despite that, I think the team of authors did most of it right. I'll add more if I think of any.

The third arc should not have been written;

Shane's death was not only unnecessary, but a disservice to his character and detrimental to the narrative;

I can't see Conor and Abeke's relationship as romantic;

Tarik is made out of cardboard;

Tellun sucks as a character;

I like that we were given no backstory for Zerif;

Shane and Abeke were canonically in love;

The Dragon's Eye and The Burning Tide are easily the worst books of the series.

being a writer is great bc i can change whatever i want about a character. whether that be appearance, personality, backstory or something else. i can even take a character i don't like in canon and transform them into someone i find more interesting, compelling or just generally likeable. but then i look back at the source material and i'm like... umm who the fuck is that
