tumblr feels so empty these days man. obviously there was the great porn exodus but a big chunk of the current user base is so... passive. people just don't reblog anymore. my notes are full of likes and empty blogs with long likes histories and have to wonder if that's because people who come here from insta/tiktok etc where reblogs don't exist are used to engaging with the post by liking & moving on. and so they do this here instead of using tumblr as god intended which is being annoying and oversharing to an audience of what feels like 4 people

I have watched 2 generations of women die waiting. Waiting for the chance to do something they wanted to do all their lives, but wouldn't because they had to take care of the shitty man.
I watched a 3rd woman lose her community, and much of her prospects and freedom to that same shitty man. Waiting for him to die so she could go on with her life. He didn't go til at least 10-15 years after. She's now somewhere... attached to the other shitty man that she almost left, except he convinced her that his father would die without her. I wonder if she's still trapped?
If you need it, this is your permit to go.
If you will, get rid of that one, and get yourself a better partner. You deserve it.
If you won't... at least, find a way to get past all their sabotaging efforts, and go do the thing that you really wanted to do in life.
