I was driving through it when my parents called. First, my dad called. Then, my mom. “The news says seek shelter immediately!” Meanwhile, I’m driving through this torrential downpour going “this is fine.”

I know !!! Now my mom doesn’t want to make certain dishes because he’ll do stuff like this. I’m like, mom, you are under no obligation to please him! He can cook for his damn self if he has a problem with something.

Do I like every meal that we eat? No -- but it’s nothing personal.

I might say, well, I don’t care for [insert food], I’ll just make this other thing instead. But. He will literally email her and tell her to stop cooking something or patronizingly tell her how she should cook it.
