Gold Road login screen: healers
Telorinwe, Altmer, Sapiarch, templar healer
another oc i've retconned so much lore for but still have in game so uh. all that's really left is that she's a sapiarch, she did the summerset main quest, and she's got a thing for olorime and relequen of the welkynar. her tags got all her old content but i've never really reworked her for the present day. oh well, she's cute.
an assortment of bananas
Darien has the best short king vibes right now surrounded by Altmer.
Queletar only acquired his gryphon egg recently in his story, just after the events of Cloudrest when the Welkynar got scared enough to speed up the process to training potential initiates (since 3/4 of them nearly died). He was told to name it himself because it creates a stronger bond between Welkynar and Gryphon, but he struggled to come up with a fitting name. Olorime wouldn't help him because it was bad luck to name another Welkynar's gryphon, so he eventually went to Telorinwe for help. She didn't want to help him at all, much less break a tradition in the Welkynar's, but she couldn't stand watching such an adorable and majestic baby just being called "gryphon" or "it" and suggested a few names just to stop him and get him off her back.
Unfortunately this did magically create something of a bond between Quel's gryphon and Tel, making them significantly more friendly toward her without any real work, even letting her ride them without anywhere near the amount of fuss they give strangers.
I haven't been able to settle on how I view the students at the College of Sapiarchs to be like. Are they snooty Ivy League students all vying for the "most likely to become president" superlative? Are they distinguished-passing disaster Altmer who show up to classes on Morndas hungover as fuck, who eventually become Sapiarchs of meaningless topics? Are they a horrible mix of the two where the only thing they have in common is a sense of superiority over non-Altmer that they never question?
Either way, I want them to be like one of my favorite reddit posts of all time even if it makes no sense.
What happens in college stays in college
I know I just settled on Telorinwe's story but I'm really feeling Emotions about her, Quel, and Olorime...
Telorinwe outright rejecting Queletar right from the get-go because his cockiness, his arrogance, his entitlement and overconfidence, the emphasis on strength over intellect, all the things she thought about him from first glance disgusted her and reminded her of what she was trying to leave behind from Altmeri society. Her slowly coming around to realize that some of those were assumptions she made too quickly, as well as Quel failing horribly at impressing her when he was just absolutely love struck at first sight. The others were things he was willing to work on and change if only she had actually communicated her issues or feelings instead of just being rude and dismissive and ghosting him. Her still denying her feelings because she can't admit she was ever wrong, but being torn between her stubborness and knowing that if she has to be in an arranged marriage, that Quel really is the one person she knows she could trust and even love on that level.
But at the same time, trying to understand what she feels for Olorime, the beautiful, kind, courageous friend she's had throughout the years. Who she doesn't entirely understand (Welkynars and Sapiarchs have wildly different jobs) what Tel is talking about but listens so intently. Who listens to her vent about the struggles of being a healer and sharing wisdom and techniques. Tel trying to accept that she couldn't ever be with Olorime because she needs to marry a man and have kids and clearly there's no room for another woman in that picture. That she's already engaged to Queletar. That Olorime doesn't even like her like that.
Olorime slowly coming into her feelings for Telorinwe, less a realization and more that a feeling of love slowly grows over time. But at the same time, Queletar and Olorime going back and forth between "we should we shouldn't" after their relationship changed forever after they escaped Cloudrest. They had a bond that couldn't be broken, and they knew relationships between Welkynars were dangerous, but just couldn't stay away. They should enjoy themselves before Queletar has to marry Telorinwe and it doesn't have to mean anything more that what their friendship is.
Quel still having feelings for Tel from the moment he watched her come out of the Aerie with all his fellow Welkynars alive, but her still being legally married to Vene (definitely not for healthcare purposes or anything), and him and Olorime not ever having a real name for what their thing is just further complicates things. He cares deeply for both. Loving Olorime so deeply it ached, unable to be apart from her for too long. Wanting to get to know Telorinwe and break past that hard shell she always had up and learn the things that made her smile, what she was passionate about. And knowing that Telorinwe would be the safer, more realistic option for the future, thinking that one day he would have to give Olorime up.
And how in the end, Telorinwe confesses to Queletar how she does love him, but she also loves Olorime and doesn't know who she loves more. She doesn't know if she can truly love him if she also loves her, if that's even possible or okay to him. And him... him saying that he also loves Olorime and has for years. And then them... them both going to Olorime to admit their love and ask if that's okay with Olorime or if they all need to forget this conversation even happened and go back to being friends and allies. Olorime breaking down with the two of them when she confesses that she too cared deeply for the other two and didn't know what she was going to do when the two of them got married...
I just want all three of them to be Happy....
where’s that uesp post that listed all the classes that sapiarchs can take or study
if you can find it, you can pick One class that Telorinwe has taken
