random AU idea:

samara comes across teltin facility during one of her investigations. she takes out every guard and scientist and saves as many children as she can.

something goes terribly wrong and after a little girl dies in samara‘s arms that could not be saved with anything she could possibly do, only jack is left alive.

samara, being a justicar, cannot adopt jack, as much as she feels she should, because she can‘t look out for her while living this dangerous life. so the only thing she can do is to make sure jack is safe and has a home.

samara calls an old contact on illium, aethyta. aethyta makes sure jack remains hidden, safe, with an adoptive asari mother, who is wealthy enough to afford good security. aethyta‘s spies and commandos also make sure no cerberus agent gets close to jack.
