“..I know stuff’s not great between us..” Eugh not his most eloquent but then again, the Nobody ever claimed to be good with words. Still it’s the truth, Riku and himself were far from on the best of terms, if their various awkward little chats were any hint. “But..if..If you need anything, or just need quiet..you know you can come nudge at me yeah? I mean...We’re never gonna get along if we don’t try.” Not that he wanted to try forever but hey, they had made some progress at least!

Nothing had changed about the Destiny Islands

Terra remembered feeling the same way about it when everyone was gathered on the beach, hanging out together.

  Now that he had returned by himself, Terra really had some time to take it all in. It really didn’t feel like over a decade ago that he bequeathed his Keyblade to Riku. The words of the ceremony still rang in his head, something that he had been taught when he was little and practiced over and over again.

  He’d glad to be alive, but if he hadn’t made it through that final battle, Terra knew he’d be content, at least, that there’s somebody following in his footsteps. 

  Terra breathed out a sigh of relief, feeling the sea breeze in his hair. This quiet island really was a nice place to just sit and think about things. Terra wondered what force it was that guided him to the islands in the first place? What entity decided that he should be at that place, at that time... Was it truly the will of the light, as he had believed? He’ll probably never know.

    Riku sat in silence as he looked at the blind-folded older version of himself. Aquamarine eyes studied his features then lowered down to his hands as he thought about his own. This older version of himself looked so much. . . More MATURE, as if time had really shown just how badly the war had dragged them through HELL and back over and over again. So many questions danced on the teenager's lips as he thought about which ones he wanted to ask first and which ones he thought he should wait to ask until later. “. . .Are you scared to go to war again when you aren’t ready. . .?” He asked quietly as his hands curled into fists before they fell into his lap. “. . . and that it will all happen before you can prevent it. . .?”

He wasn’t sure where that noise was coming from. It sounded like some sort of owl, but was he somewhere owls were? It wasn’t a sound that made much sense to him at the moment so he went to look for what was making the sound.

☆  ★  ☆  ———   Hidden away just off the main street Noctus sat against the wall. The tell-tale bobble of his head, which drooped ever so closer to his chest, told of the Tierien’s struggle to stay awake. A tired hoot escaping from him with every subconscious jerk straight.  He wasn’t asleep. At least... not yet. The Tierien being conscious, just enough, to hear the sound of Riku’s approach. 

It jolted Noctus upright in a flighty panic, his hand pulling the goggles that shaded his eyes back to his neck. ❝ I’m here. I’m here. I wasn’t asleep! ❞ Noctus’ eyes blinked blind to the sudden change in brightness. ❝ ...Jack? ❞ He asked, seeing a  head of silver through his squinting.

Xeha riffled through a number of Even’s notes he’d nosed his way into reviewing and archiving for him and the other apprentices. His methodology was careful and studious, writing out highlights of every page’s information in his notebook first before quickly typing up the transcription into the computer’s file so he could move onto the next.

Copying the notes for his personal study wasn’t necessarily condoned, or explicitly part of the initial agreement, but it was a lot of information he would be a fool to turn his nose at. He wrapped up the last sentence of his notes, and stopped when he saw a reflection in the computer’s screen.

“Your face is just about stuck that way, isn’t it? The scowl.” He hummed, turning to face the other.
