Amethyst noticed her first. She’d been on guard, after all, and Selenite wasn’t exactly hard to identify. She stayed seated, simply calling to the other.

“Greetings, Selenite!” Amethyst called, waving. “What brings you to our neck of the woods?”

She knew she hadn’t interacted with Selenite as much as some of the other Gems in their small band, but she was as recognizable as the rest, if not more so. That would hopefully be enough to convince Selenite she was no threat.

“C’mon Cat!” Carnelian called. “She’s gotta be somewhere around here!”

Cat’s Eye grumbled, kicking its feet to discard the sand that was starting to pile into its shoes. “Why are we looking for that Selenite, again?”

“She might know where we can stay,” Carnelian said. “Plus, it’s fun to bother her. She gets riled up so easily!”

Cat’s Eye rolled its eyes, suddenly lifting itself into the air. “Hey, it’s that her?”

It pointed to a shape in the distance, which looked familiar.

Amethyst was hanging around Beach City, mostly just to cool off from gem things and pretend for a while.

After snatching a few orders of fries from the Fry Shop, she turned to take them over to the beach to eat, sure no one would --

A gem. She knew it was a gem, just from the way she looked. And this gem -- was that a diamond?! What was a gem with a diamond doing on her beach?

Setting the fries to the side, Amethyst pulled half of her whip from her gem, storming over to the other. “Who’re you?!” she demanded, growling low in her throat.

She’d had enough of Homeworld gems already, and this one wasn’t getting away.

The six new gems had been waiting for some time with Selenite when the warp pad suddenly activated, and in came Pearl and a taller gem none of them had seen before. Pearl was talking to her, and Carnelian managed to catch “...they don’t seem completely incompetent, but you never know.”

“They’re back,” they said, nearly slipping off the couch and hitting their head.

White Quartz ducked around to get behind the other gem, popping up behind her and whispering “boo” before darting away again.

Potential Partnership

Cairo was admittedly one of her favorite workplaces. The hot and arid climate was pleasant, and it was easy to get lost in a crowd. Not to mention she loved the architecture. On this particular evening, she was there as a buyer, not a seller, looking for certain particular spices and chemicals for tear gas bombs and the like. Altogether, she considered the day a success. 

As she was wandering the streets and window shopping, she caught sight of something strange. She realized it was late, but it was hardly cold weather outside, and there hadn’t been signs of a sandstorm for days; why would someone be wandering around the city in a cloak? Curious, she took a closer look and...was that a white diamond? Suddenly she recognized the “cloak”’s design and understood what she was looking at. A Selenite, another espionage-focused Gem like herself. How interesting to come across one there. 

Since she wasn’t busy at the time, she decided to have a little fun, casually following the other Gem through the streets but not making any particular effort at stealth; in fact, she was waiting to be caught. @tempestgem
