@ten-thousands-hobbits Ask and Ye shall receive! I admit I do not take too many photos of my cats, as they frustrate me with their never-ending movements haha. So some of these photos are quite old. First, we have Oliver and Margo. Oliver is a shelter rescue while Margo is a pedigree lilac pointed Siamese. We call her the Uptown Girl and Oliver is Orange Boy. They're a bonded pair, repeated false heats drove Margo to seek out our only male at that time for relief (even though he could not provide it), and thus their relationship formed. You'll never find one without the other. Oliver is somewhat of a bully to everyone else, however. Next is Iris, so named for her iris-shaped soot patch on her otherwise pure white body. She's a strange bird, a stray who literally wandered right into my Grandpa's house in spite of being chased away TWICE by his yellow lab. We believe she was owned by someone previously, but with no microchip, collar, or postings about a lost cat in the area, we took her in. She was simply too knowledgeable about people to think she was a regular stray. She has bi-colored eyes, and her white fur is almost transparent at times. Her personality is feisty but she has terrible anxiety. Sadly she was bullied by Oliver and is now permanently litterbox broken. We simply deal with it. She's too sweet a lot of the time for us to stay mad for long! Then we have Clarabel. Clarabel came on the heels of a tuxedo kitten we had who died at four months old due to a heart defect. We adopted her to put a bottom to the endless pit of despair we were all in. We needed her and her honey-sweet personality, we were reeling from the death of a beloved Siamese that past September, then the death of our little kitten so soon after. She is very timid but very sweet, we worked on her endlessly and now she's literally the most affectionate cat I think I've ever had to date. We call her 'boneless' because she legit melts into you for love and cuddles~ Our currently eldest cat is a pedigree chocolate-pointed Siamese named Hyacinth. She has a chronic, lifelong upper respiratory disorder so sadly she's always looking sick. But don't be fooled, this animal is eternal youth personified. She is the most vocal of all the Siamese I've ever owned (which has been MANY), and for a pedigree, one of the longer-lived. The irony of Hyacinth is that while all my other pedigrees gotten around the time I got her all perished of terrible causes (rectal cancer, heart failure, early kidney failure, etc.), she has endured - we credit the upper respiratory virus for that. She has endless love and while she's beginning to slow down in her senior years, she still has the strength to grab life by the horns! My youngest currently is Percy. We are convinced he is at least half Maine Coon, for this animal weighs in at 25lbs. and there is next to NO fat on him. He's pure muscle. And he flaunts it! No photo does his size justice. He's a momma's boy, and almost exclusively lives in my mother's bedroom. Intelligent as hell, he has learned to twist doorknobs to open doors, and has the strength to open our dryer door and move some of our lighter furniture. He's not a polydactyl but he might as well have thumbs for all the shit he can open. If there was a cat who could succeed in taking over the world, he's it - if only he weren't so lazy! En Yufuin as a cat, indeed~ Willow is a real-life example of the song 'How Much is that Kitty in the Window?' A flame-point applehead Siamese with a terrible backstory, I saw her at the local Petsmart and said 'we have to have her'. She was behind the plexiglass of her room mewling and crying and I just. Had to. Have her. We learned she was abandoned while pregnant and had a broken skull. We have no proof but we believe some awful excuse for a carbon lifeform put her face in. It makes sense, she's afraid of a human hand near her head. This was three years ago. Now she's less afraid and is very sweet and chatty. Lastly, we have Mavis. There's a theme with some of the names here - Oliver, Clarabel, Percy, and Mavis were named for their respective Thomas&Friends characters. I was big into that until about the age of 23, but the naming theme has sort of stuck. Mavis the cat is not much different from Mavis the diesel - 'young, and full of her own ideas'. Feisty, precocious, intelligent, this cat gives no fucks whatsoever. She has myself in particular wrapper around her little paw. There's a reason for that. Without Mavis, I wouldn't be here today. I was going to commit suicide a few years back but I had a pet lovebird and wanted to leave a bag of bird food behind so my parents could feed her in my absence. So off to the local Petsmart I went to but bird food and then... there was this lonely little red tabby who was doing everything possible to get my attention! I was smitten. I begged my parents for this little girl and after about six hours of guarding her from other possible adopters, I walked out with her. I never did buy bird food that day... anyway, Mavis is welded to me whenever I'm home, and she largely ignores everyone else. I suspect at times there might've been some form of divine intervention there. Anyway I hope this satisfies your curiosity bby~ Thanks for asking me, cat lovers unite!!
