To Tend Hope
The smallest light
Can shine for all.
In the dark it ignites,
Springing to life,
Finding its way from the shadows.
Born from hope
And fed on dreams,
The flame is life animated.
It shines for us,
Warming all who approach it,
Whether we kindle or tend it ourselves,
Or another kindles and tends it for us.
Sit with this flame in your heart,
Abiding for a time in its light.
Be brightened by it,
For it is yours as it is mine.
At the end of it all,
Here we are left, standing against the dark:
Tending the Flame of Hope.
