Couldn't not draw them with OTP as one of the choices! I was a bit short on time so it's a bit rough and sketchy, but y'know what, I kinda like it!

Tendou Week // day 5: coffee shop au

tendou’s birthday and two of my cats’ birthday (they’re turning four) are all on may 20th! so it’s a special day <3 not only did I draw tendou, I added a calico cat because the birthday cats are both calico cats

and I heard it was tendou week (saw @lasipaholainen’s lovely post on insta), and there’s a prompt for animals, so this fits nicely, doesn’t it?

tensemi drabble for tendou weeeek. it’s mostly dialogue, but i needed a quick break, so this is it.

•

“Hey. I’m here.”

“Y-” Semi cuts himself off, sliding from his chair to the window overlooking the central courtyard. “You’re on campus?”

“Yeah?” Tendou sighs through the phone.

“From all the way across Tokyo?”

“Is now a bad time?”

“No.” He moves away from the window to shuffle through clothes hanging in his small closet. “Just uh, let me toss on some real clothes and i’ll be down.”

“Hmm.”

He pauses. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Well. Maybe I should come help.”

Semi roughly tugs a sweatshirt off a hanger. “Oh? I can’t dress myself now?”

“Semi. You were wearing plaid pants the last time we met. I know we came from nowhere Miyagi, but did you seriously take fashion inspiration from Oikawa Tooru?”

“The fuck?” He shakes his head. “Why would I fuckin’ -and what’s wrong with my clothes?”

“Honestly, I think I burned those pants.”

“Well they’re-” He stops, balancing the phone between his cheek and shoulder to rummage through the hangers. There they were. Thank God. “They’re right here, so you didn’t.”

“Hmm.”

“Will you quit doing that?” He throws the shirt over his head, switching on the speakerphone so he could still hear his boyfriend’s shrill laugh coming through.

“Oop. That might’ve been a mistake,” Tendou tells him, calming down. “People are starting to stare at the man not in maroon.”

“Doubtful,” Semi huffs. “Not everyone wears school colors here, contrary to your belief.”

“ . .  What color’s your shirt?”

“It-” He breaks off, sighing, and grabs his keys. “Maroon.”

“And your pants?”

“They’re sweats, you asshole!”

“Oh? Good, good! That seems like a decent combo. Hopefully . .”

“I heard that,” Semi snaps. He reaches behind him and closes the door, waiting to hear the lock before stepping into the hallway. “Heading down now. Where are you?”

“On campus.”

“Waseda’s a big campus. Be more specific.”

“Well . . you see . .”

He stops. No. No way. he starts laughing, ignoring Tendou’s reply to tell him to knock it off, and he can tell the other is flustered.

“Are you lost, Sa~to~ri?”

“Yeah.” He huffs through the speaker. “I’m fucking lost on your big fucking campus. I thought you’d be by the gym, since you got in with a fancy volleyball scholarship, but I ended up with directions to the baseball fields instead, and now I’m by a biology building, I think, it could be geology, but I’m lost either way.”

“Relax.” He opens a side door and steps out of the building. “I’m near the heart of campus, so just start walking and tell me what you see. I’ll come to you.”

“Right, okay.” It’s a few moments before his voice comes through again. “Uh, there’s a sign for natural sciences. And some building with a green roof.”

“Oh, perfect.” He heads that way, knowing the path now by heart. “You’re by the fields still, actually the gym’s not far, but I don’t know who’s in there now.”

“People are staring,” Tendou groans, voice loud in Semi’s ear.

“Hey, if you had warned me beforehand, I could’ve met you somewhere. Just sit tight.”

“But I wanted to surprise you!”

“Well, mission accomplished. I guess.”

It takes a few minutes of walking and endless banter with Tendou before he finally sees the flagpoles. “Oi. I’m here, I think. Where are you.” He jerks the phone away as he’s met with the dial tone. “The fuck?”

“-eeeeeeeEEEEMISEMIIIIII!” 

Suddenly there’s a weight on his back, knocking him off balance, and with a startled yelp Semi crumples to the ground. On top of him, Tendou laughs.

“Oh. You really did pick normal clothes,” he tells the setter as he helps him to his feet.

Semi blanches. “Idiot! Just say I look good like a regular person.”

Tendou just laughs again. “Yeah yeah.” An arm goes around Semi’s shoulders. “You look nice, Eita,” he croons by the other’s ear.

Semi jerks his head away, but his face is red. 

“Hey, let’s go eat. I’m hungry.”

He shrugs, but then realization dawns on him. “You’re paying.”

“What? How unfair!!”

“I forgot my wallet in my room.”

Tendou huffs, turning away with his arms crossed. “Well, I got mugged!”

“Liar!” Semi pokes him in the side, making the other jump. “I’m serious. Just be a nice boyfriend this one time, please?”

“Fine, fine,” Tendou groans. He slots his hand in Semi’s, tugging him towards the road. “Let’s just leave already. I’m sick of getting stared at because I’m not in school colors.”

“Because that’s why people stare.”

He’s met with Tendou’s tongue, sticking out from his lips, and can’t help but grin. “It really is good to see you.”

The hand in his squeezes, Tendou’s voice finally dying down. “Yeah. Sorry for not saying anything. I just really missed you. Now that season’s over with, I figured you’d be a bit more open to taking spontaneous breaks.”

“Well.” He pauses. “I suppose I don’t mind.”

“Next time don’t get lost, though.”

“Hey!!”
