6. Someone you hate?

Not really. I think over the past 4-5 years I’ve kind of moved on from focussing my negative emotions on individuals, no matter how despicable, to focussing them on larger social forces that influence behaviour and beliefs (that in turn lead to despicableness). There are people I avoid because I don’t like their politics or attitude or the way they’ve treated me in the past, but to be honest it would be too strong to say I hated them or even disliked them, even though I might say that about them as a shortcut.

But if you ask me about fictional characters I hate, we’ll be here all day so let’s not. :D (DEATH TO HANAMIYA. A SHARK CAGE FOR ALL WHO ARE MEAN TO EIJUN)

9. What’s your dream job?

i would love to be a fiction editor! way too lazy and asocial to actually pursue it as a career, though, so it’s also a dream job in the ‘will only happen while i sleep’ sense of the word :D :D

(of course it would be fabulous to get paid for fiction writing but the sort of non-fanfic things i write would never pay the bills, and i’m not really about the starving artist lifestyle at this point in my timeline.)

not to mention Rin giving Rei a proper thank you for giving him his place in the relay (and not getting to swim w/ his team or experience what they experienced, etc.) Sigh.

omg you are right, I didn't even think of that! Of course Rei will have other opportunities to swim relays with the Iwatobi team, and this was more of a "if we don't do this, Rin will quit swimming and we don't want that" dealio. But that does not change the fact that Rei WANTED to swim with them at the big old pool they all stared at together with shiny eyes the night before, and he stayed awake all nervous just like the rest of them. and yet he stepped aside because he is a precious angel, whereas rin just seemed to take it as a matter of course

I'm at least glad that Rei didn't give up his ONLY chance to swim relay since the way they got to regionals was by winning at prefecturals without any help from Rin. ^_^

yeah exactly. and he doesn't even seem to be aware that what he did was wrong. not to mention he could have gotten what he wanted without being dick, if he hadn't been such a dick in the first place.

He AT LEAST seems to be aware that yelling at Nitori was wrong but like, seriously, grow some decency. I mean, yeah, he seems to have trouble communicating his feelings, which is understandable, but. Haru doesn't communicate very well verbally either but for some reason he doesn't go around throwing punches at his friends when they happen to be convenient targets for his existential angst. I wonder, could it be because Haru is not a gormless asshole idk

and YES UGH the fact that the whole plot of Free! was basically "retrieve Rin's swimming mojo from the opposite shore of Teen Angst Sea" while Rin just stomped around throwing tantrums and doing literally nothing proactive to help HIMSELF im just like, no stop

THANK YOU. and man he was so excited. we just grabbed him an hour ago and he's fast asleep, dead to the world. My dude is making friends man. Two days a week now, so many dogs to chase! 

the first thing i thought after I signed up the paper work was 'yay! two days a week where i can vacuum without him tangling up the line!'
