Casually minding her own business the thief made her way down the road. Humming to herself she thought about how she could make easy money for her dinner. The thought of taking the Rounin’s job offer for some sort of petty theft job was tempting…—-though, the theif’s train of thought seemed to cut short when someone called out to her.
Lady!
Lady?? She thought.
Looking over she saw a small boy run up to her——baffled, the thief was quite impressed that the little boy was able to figure out she was indeed a woman. Perhaps the next generation of children nowadays were developing really keen eye sight or something. Stopping she watching the little boy run up to her holding a bowl of rice towards her.
Can you eat it? I don’t want it.
The thief’s mouth began to water a little. Free Food…of course under normal circumstances the thief would gladly take the food…but….
"Aww…how cute." she mused squatting to the boy’s height, "Whats wrong with your rice? Unless there’s a good reason why you don’t want it I’ll take it…however—-a strong boy like you, why would you give up such a thing?" she asked.
Hajime was actually not very good at seeing the difference between men and women, because he never payed attention to the way they dressed. So, it was just a lucky guess of his he got it right that moment. He raised himself on his toes to look taller and to put the food closer to the lady. Though, when he crouched to look at him, Saitou just looked back with his big indigo eyes.
She asked many questions... He held his bowl close to his body again and looked at her cautiously. If he said much, she would tell his dad, and then he wouldn't be able to train with the other boys! Hajime thought for a moment what he would say.
"It's good, mama is good cook. But I can't eat it." He told her, his voice really low. Maybe if he said it was a secret, she would keep it and everything would be okay, right? That's what he would do since lying was wrong. "Can I tell you a secret, lady? But you can't tell papa or mama, is it fine?"
