Here‘s the thing: I don‘t think TV shows for teens necessarily need sex scenes, but I think Druck has done a really good job here an with David and Mateo as well. Those scences were really realistic, they weren't oversexualized and they treated eachother carefully. And that's how sex should be and it's good for teens to see that, because if you only ever see grown-ups having sex on TV - or teens having sex like grown-ups... I think that might put a lot of pressure on teenagers and give them wrong expectations in themselves and their partners..
But I also think being a virgin needs to be normalized. I don't know how many times I have seen a teenager on screen, who was ashamed or made fun of because they never had sex or even kissed someone. Grown-up people need to stop writing such stories. I mean, hello?! They're teenagers! When I was 17 I was virgin af! It's absolutely fine, if you have had several sex partners already at that age. But so is, if you haven't. Stop shaming young people for not being experienced and pressuring them into something they may not be ready for yet!
Teenage boys n their fucken,,,,,, gatoade
One thing that gets on my nerves is when someone brushes away kids or teenagers/young adults from topics like society, climate change, and education.
My dad, in his 40s, never watches, never reads anything about these topics, and is yet so opinionated that he thinks he right. And I can't argue with him because I am his child, younger than him. I can't get mad when he dismisses things for the same exact reasons. I get told to leave it alone, to 'not use that tone'.
Just because you have 'more experience' in the 'real world' doesn't mean you're always right. It does not mean you know everything about things that are going on. That does not mean you can dismiss younger people who are affected just as much if not more than you.
I may not know all the facts. If I say something incorrectly politely inform me, do not think me dumb or uneducated just because I may not have known that one thing. Also, do it without bias (well as little bias as you can). Treat me like an equal. You are not always the higher person. You do not always know the best.
We experience things differently. You experienced high school in the 60s/70s/80s/90s, I am experiencing it now.
The people who are kids and teenagers and young adults now are future influencers, politicians, and activists.
Encourage your kids to learn as much as they can about topics they love, and about things they will need to know in the future. Treat them as an equal, not as someone who just takes out the trash.
ya fuck that.
We all remember that awkward moment of growing up and have to prove to everybody that WE worth something .So, to all the people out there, let us know that we worth something, so that way we can all just be free.
