It is being reported that Tarzan Goto has passed away. He was 58 years old. Goto famously wrestled Dan The Beast Severn for the #TenPoundsOfGold in 1995 in the IWA. In 1995, the NWA would with with both International Wrestling Association. IWA would hold a tournament in December of 1995 to crown new NWA World Tag Team Champions. Roughly six months after the titles became inactive when NWA Dallas closed their doors. On December 9th, 1995 Mr. Gannosuke & Tarzan Goto defeat Cactus Jack & Tiger Jeet Singh to become NWA World Tag Team Champions. One year ago today, at Thunder Studios, the #TenPoundsOfGold came to Long Beach. This was the first defense in the city, going back to the 1950s. #PrimeTimeLIVE ran for 12 episodes on FITE TV last year. This moment was pretty significant for many reasons... First, this was the first match I ever took my daughter too. She had just turned six a few days earlier. (For the record she's 17 now). This was the first set of tapings for @cwfhollywood on @kdoctv and beyond. A relationship that has kept locally produced wrestling on TV in Los Angeles for 11 years. Although Colt had wrestled for this promotion before, this was the run that would push Colt into the main event that led to best feud for the #TenPoundsOfGold since Flair vs. Sting. Lastly this was significant because it was also the start of a long relationship with the office. It established Peter Avalon, who later would become the face of Hollywood.
