“Wangji,” he returned, voice level.

Wangji’s lips thinned and he turned back to face the street before them. Xichen was not best pleased and Wangji knew it. Wangji also knew that he knew that Wangji knew it.

This is explained as immortal vampires preserving otherwise lost knowledge of alchemy. And Derek speculates that they use this to be able to walk in broad daylight. That they protect themselves from the sunlight by a reflective subcutaneous… layer of silver?… — Sparkly vampires didn't originate with Twilight but were implied in Poltergeist: The Legacy before!

My underrated masterpiece.

So, imagine you’re me, on stage singing a song and Dave’s there… singing my lyrics.

When you’re making art, you put a piece of your soul into that artwork. When we're on stage that’s us performing our art. The music we make is our souls being united to create something beautiful.

I had this intense sort of realisation and time seemed to stand still. We were dancing, our bodies moving with pure precision. And I just saw everything so clearly. The butterfly effect of things that HAD to happen for us to be there. In that moment. It felt surreal to see things so clearly.

Just think about evolution itself, how everything started. How many things had to fight for their survival. Our common ancestors. People living through plagues, famine and war. We who are alive are all survivors.

Our genes ended up here, on stage where our souls interplay and merge with each other. It was magical. I could see the song take shape before me. I could see it all in macro vision.
