@ikkaku-of-heart
In a way, Uni was jealous of how easily the crew had gone back to normal after the frightening trip down in the deep they had just been through. The ruins there had felt so unnatural and looked like they should never have been there in the first place. The only other person he could confide in with this feeling was Ikkaku, who would understand more than anyone about these dark uncanny feelings of being watched from beyond the steel bolted walls of the Polar Tang.
That strange feeling stuck with him even a week since they left that retched place. And while Uni was glad they were past it, there was something far buried beneath him that strangely yearned to go back there, practically begged to. But that voice was swiftly and easily stomped out, why the hell would he want to return to such a scary place? No one would that’s who, at least nothing natural.
The feeling eventually manifested itself into some strange aches and pains. Most of them seemed to run along his right arm and centralized in the forearm specifically whenever he would trace the body part overtop of his boiler suit.
But after finding the nearest reflective surface to look off of and an empty room, Uni tentatively removed his glove and peeled back the sleeve of his boiler suit with surprising difficulty, almost like it was caught on something.
But once he did finally remove all clothing in the area, Uni had to quickly stifle a yell of surprise in a bid to not wake any of the sleeping crew at this late an hour.
What lay across almost his entire forearm was a dark purple/ near jet black swath of scales, the coloring beautiful to look at had it been on anything other than himself where it would belong. And on the tip of each hand were what seemed to be the beginnings of sharp black nails thickening what human nails he should’ve had to it’s very bed. The tugging sensation he had felt when pulling his sleeve up he’d discover experimentally by stroking those brilliant scales towards himself in the tiniest of tugs indicating to him that these were not superficial, but rather very permanent scales.
it was during these distracting actions that he was alerted by someone elses presence by sounds that were far too close to him for his liking. Wasn’t he regarded one of the most skilled at observation haki on their crew? Pathetic.
