Yuichiro winced a little at the mental image of his lips being cut off with such a sharp object - he had been kidding around after all; he didn’t think it had warranted such a threat, even one as half-hearted as the one Guren had given. Not that he was really offended, but the mental image was still rather gruesome to imagine and he quite liked his lips where they were, attached to his face, thank you very much.

“Huh? Oh - Just trainin’, y’know? I erm, have a bit of a hard time finding sparing partners, so I just come out here and fight the monsters,” he shrugged his shoulders before a whine left his lips as the words registered completely.

“Oi! I can do more than a few petty water tricks! I can fight with a sword - and even if I couldn’t, water is a deadly weapon if you know how to use it!” He grumbled, arms crossed as he shot a half-glare at the boy’s back, walking a bit more heavily. While water never looked like the meanest of elements, there was a reason people feared the deep sea. It could destroy cities and towns in the matter of moments, could turn into waves that towered over even some of the tallest buildings. It was a destroyer. A thing to be feared.

คBSENTLY running his fingers over his palm where the cut was fully healed with wonder in his eyes, though he didn’t let the other boy see it. It was definitely a useful power to have, albeit a little unsuspecting at first because he did not gauge the extent of his capabilities. But if this were Poseidon’s child, and that meant that he had full control over any body of water, he could do anything related to water such as healing a simple cut like what he had just did to his hand, or even bring down a building with a wave that rivalled that of a tsunami. Compared to Guren, whose only strength was, quite literally, strength itself and his skill with a sword, Yuuichirou was more versatile. Easily adaptable. And noisy. What a brat.

ĢUREN’S ears pricked up slightly at the mention of a sword, and pausing in his footsteps, he turned to face the boy. There was a kindling of enthusiasm in his violet eyes -- an enthusiasm that could best be compared to the thirst of battle and competition, of fighting spirit and the excitement of adrenaline coursing through his very veins. It was the flame of Ares that burned in his eyes, and his fingers tightened around the cloth strap that he slung on his shoulder. “Next time, you should spar with me. My father taught me how to fight with a sword.” He continued walking, crunching dead leaves and twigs beneath his shoes as he made his way through the forest in brief silence, thinking of the best way to continue the conversation despite not being one for much talk in the first place. “Did you learn how to wield a sword yourself?”
