While LEDs were invented in Russia in the 1920s, the first practical LED was not manufactured until the late 1960s. This makes their costume anachronistic for a 1950s party and therefore ineligible for the Best-Dressed Award.

The young women who’ve travelled all the way from the Amazon to be here tonight are also ineligible for the award, as winners must be dressed to win Best-Dressed.

Of course, the real winners of the night are all those who threw their drink tokens to the wind because they’d cracked a bottle beforehand.
