The script for Project LUMEN is…. A lot of things. 

It’s long, sure, it’s great, it’s in-character and collaborative. 

But mostly… It’s colorful—

What is this Red? 

This Orange?

There are Blues and—

What is this Color…?

Things may never be the same….

Writer Wednesday - A revival!

Well, you’ve all been wondering where the writers have been. You can all personally thank Foam for shaking me and telling me, hey! We’ve got this thing! 

So as they say… Round 2, Electric boogaloo! 

We’ll start with a personal favorite of mine… One truth, two lies! 

You will be given three lines. Two of them will be made up… But one of them will have been pulled directly from the script. 

GRIAN - So, like, best friends? Sounds like a good deal to me. 

GRIAN - I see we both had the same idea; To come here for sand.

SCAR - I may have died first, but you’re the next one in line, my friend!

Ooooh. Now I’m doubting myself. Which one is the truth, my friend?

LUMEN Presents: Writer Wednesday!

[Tape starts]

[Unintelligible]

[Muffled sound]

[Page flicking]

#1: Oh!

#2: What did you find?

#1: Today’s [Unintelligible].

#2: Friend… That’s not a word.

#1: I know, I know, Friend, but it’s in Common. They apparently feel the need to tame everything with their existence, even time. Today’s [Unintelligible].

#2: Oh… I didn’t know that. And, please, stop trying to speak Common, it hurts my Watchful ears.

#1: Well, I can’t translate it.

#2: You can! Come on, I know we have a manual on translating Common to Galactic somewhere around here.

[Shuffling sounds]

[Footsteps]

#2: Ahah!

[Footsteps]

[Muffled sound]

[Bam!]

#2: Told you.

#1: Just get on it.

[Multiple page flickings]

[Muffled sound]

#2: So this letter, is this letter…

#1: I hate it when you think out loud. That’s not your job.

#2: Shut up.

[Muffled sound]

[Scribbling]

#2: Ahah! There it is.

#1: Wednesday.

#2: That’s still not a word. Wednesday? What even is that? They just made up a word.

#1: Give them some credit! There’s Day at the end of it.

#2: Yeah, and a day is a made-up concept. But, sure, let’s say I give them that–but Wednesday? Wed? What, am I supposed to marry someone today?

#1: Hey! I didn’t make Common. Or the concept of time, really.

#2: I know. But you still Watch them! I don’t understand it.

#1: You Watch wild life, you never could understand.

#2: Isn’t that coming soon?

#1: What?

#2: Wild Life.

#1: I dunno. I don’t work on that.

#2: Oh well.

#1: Let me get back to work, then.

#2: You’re the one that spoke about your weird Wednesday.

#1: [Unintelligible]!

#2: Ugh.

Hi and welcome to Writer Wednesday, where every Wednesday, me and my beautiful team of writers will cook up something for your enjoyment!

“Friend!” Friend approached them, calling out their relationship title. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you with braids! What’s with the new look?”

Ah, right. That. They haven’t worn braids since they were an Apprentice, which was lunar cycles before meeting Friend. That wasn’t surprising. They tell them just that. “Oh, I just wanted to try them out again. Haven’t worn ‘em since I was an Apprentice.”

“You wore braids when you were just an Apprentice?” …They really didn’t know why they didn’t anticipate that reaction. Luckily, Friend wasn’t the judgemental type, but more of a curious person. They had been looking into Listeners, after all, which was way too far in their opinions, but they weren’t talking about that right now.

“Yeah,” They still confirmed to their friend, “My Guardian used to braid my hair, but my Trainer at the time didn’t like that. I had to unbraid them before class and braid them afterwards. It quickly just got tiring–I couldn’t do it anymore.”

Friend looked… Almost skeptical, though they knew better. “I always hated Guardians,” Friend said, but they knew that it was because they never had a Guardian themselves. They smiled at Friend.

“Jaiunus Somnus’ soon,” They informed them, just like everyone else had been doing recently. “See if you still stand by that then.”

“I am not getting a shard!” Friend screeched, and they just laughed.

Me? Me? Me? Going insane over different Watcher dynamics? No. never (<--liar)

[Jaiunus Somnus is always represented as something Dark,]

[Though that is not true. I believe I have never seen something as bright as Jaiunus Somnus.]

[“Perhaps Light goes in circles; It hurts our eyes, but only to a certain degree. Once it reaches past that, it is beautiful.]

[I know. I know you think I’m crazy, because who doesn’t?]

[But maybe that’s what THEY intended. Maybe, maybe the only beautiful thing we can ever see is Life, Light in itself.]

Writer Wednesday #2

This week we (Foam and her emotional support boss, Teri) bring you a sneak peek of the quests we’ve been working on for 3rd Life.!

Some are already fully formed and patiently await to be discovered on your adventure.

Others maybe not so much...

And sometimes us writers just like to have a little fun :D

Since the new Simple Life AF special is out!

Any plans to include it as an easter egg or something similar?

(Warning! Spoilers for Simple Life!)

Why hello there, Teri the Writing Boss to your service.  

This is the exact question that has been asked to me 989308281th times in the private discord, and actually the thing that notified me that a new AF special was out in the first place (cough cough points fingers at Kori) 

And I watched Scott’s POV (ILOVESCOTTILOVESCOTTILOVESCOTT—) and immediately knew that I needed. I needed to add this to Project Lumen. 

(For legal reasons, I can’t say that ALL new Life Series will be included, neither that me and the team aren’t planning to murder Grian (aw :[)) 

While I can’t say the details, I do have a basic idea for Simple Life’s engagement in Project Lumen, and how to take care of the two winners issue–(which, by the way, has GOT to cause more scott fics, i swear, this has so much potential, and what do you mean there was a Grian vs Scott finale?!?!) 

Anyway, stop my rambling. Yes, Simple Life will be included. We already have a rough idea; It will be discussed in greater detail in the coming meetings™ and make Project Lumen 100000% more. Lumen ig idfk

how many writers are you looking to accept?

For as of now, we are looking for 6-8 Writers. However, depending on the number of applicants, that could be prone to change. 

(Background artist are the same with their numbers, though UI artists are probably going to be 1-2, i believe.)

will you all have voice actors or will the audio be completely musical?

We are sorry to say we will NOT be taking VA’s. 

There are too many problems we would encounter if we were, and we really do not have the resources or management. Nor do we think enough people would be dedicated enough to spend time reading what is pretty much a series of novels’ worth of writing, let alone have the right voices for the characters.

We do have several possible solutions we are working on to use instead of voice actors, though you’ll have to wait and see!
