I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but what does it mean when people talk "meta" about a show? I'm not native english speaker and I think I have an idea of what it means but I'm not sure. Could you help me Mr Penguin Gale?
Well when it comes to the word there are multiple interpretations.
If someone describes the show as ‘Meta’ it means that it has a lot of referential humor or that it is ‘Self aware’ or knows its a show.
Now when someone is talking about the ‘meta’ of a show its like its talking about the rules of the show’s universe. Like what we know to be true and canon.
Meta is pretty confusing as a concept so its completely understandable that it would be confusing. Its confusing to me
