this is a super basic question, so im sorry if you get this a lot. i just finished both the death note manga and anime. where do i go from here?
The good (???) news is that you still have a wealth of Death Note content waiting for you if you choose to explore all the side stuff. I have a handy masterlist of it all here! But since that is a LOT of content, let me issue my Top 5 recommendations on stuff that’ll be useful to have consumed to follow along with the fandom!
How To Read 13: the manga guidebook! Considering how reclusive the authors are, this is the behind-the-scenes content for Death Note and once you’ve read it, you know pretty much all there is to know about the manga universe. Sadly, there are no full scans, but if you want to purchase it, it is well worth it.
The ‘C-Kira Case’ oneshot and the 2020 oneshot: though made well after the series, these two are canonical continuations of the manga, so they are worth reading.
Death Note: Another Note: this novel is set in the manga-universe and though its canonicity is debated (and its quality as a piece of writing is also), it’s the one the fandom talks the most about!
Death Note Musical: want to re-experience the largely same story again but this time everyone is singing? Hell yeah!
Death Note TV Drama (2015): want yet another retelling of the same story, this time with a totally different spin on the established characters? This drama got your back!
I’m also personally a big fan of Light up the New World as a movie but it is set in the live action movies’ universe and the first three are... honestly pretty boring.
