❛ ┆ —— ‘ ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ ʜᴀᴍᴍᴇʀɪɴɢ, ᴘᴜᴘɪʟs ᴅɪʟᴀᴛɪɴɢ, ʜᴇᴀᴅ sᴡɪᴍᴍɪɴɢ with dizziness, her hands growing clammy as fists clenched and released at her sides; of course it had to be him. of all the people in hollygrass to run into at three in the morning while she was fucked up off of whatever drug she could get from rowan and partying too hard with faeries, ireland had to stumble her cross faded barely functioning ass into the one person she’d managed to avoid since coming home in october. one would imagine after dealing with a near death experience, she would have had things put into perspective; she’d run to the love of her life with wide arms and say that nothing mattered and mend her estranged relationships with her siblings, or do SOMETHING. instead, she’d turned to old friends, new friends, bad habits, and blocked every issue from her mind. all ireland could do was focus on school and her new position on the council. the council that her ex sat on and she unwillingly shared a cramped, tense space said ex once a month, every month, hating her life for ever slowly passing second these meetings lasted.
‘ sorry. ’ the princess slurred, eyes trained on her shoes. her legs, bambi weak and swaying, did little to keep her in a solid position and the world felt as if it were spinning around her. the sensation had been invited earlier as she danced around beneath pulsing basses and strobed lights, but now it was too much to bear and had her feeling sick. or maybe that was terrence. the thudding of her heart mimicked the pounding of her head made her thin fingers grip his shoulder, but upon realising what she was doing, ireland retracted her touch as if he burned. ‘ i uhm - i have to get home. sorry, i just, uhm.... i’m sorry, ter. ’
