I think the crush started earlier than that comic. Like, I have no idea what the date is but Lucy simply notices Schroeder, thinks he's cute, and plans to get his attention.
i actually re-read the strips from schroeder's first appearance(May 30, 1951) January 27, 1953(the Suite/sweet strip) and that is their first direct interaction! theres only a couple of strips beforehand where theyre both kind of in the background, but that’s actually their first conversation in the strip,a dn the beginning of Lucy’s crush!
