It gets exponentially worse the more you scale up, it can only get exponentially better if you scale down. OO design is all about scaling up, inheritance as a concept is just about scaling up. Maybe back in the 80s OO wasn't corporate slop but it wasn't really as useful as people would like to tell you, it was simply a new and shiny concept that worked for alot of people because they didnt really know how to code. Nowadays its all the corporations sponsoring OO, especially in academia (e.g. fucking oracle and jetbrains 💀). No one really has an argument in favor of it, there's not really anything good about inheritance, even less for tying behavior to data. Unsurprisingly the way you write code effects a final product in more than just functionality, and as a whole there's a consistent trend of OO projects (which are most software) getting worse and less performant
