My first portrait, quick sketch demo for my class last week. We do this the week before the model so they have a familiarity with the underlying skeleton. My first master copy of a drawing by Ingres. This is as far as I took it, swipe to see the in progress shots. It was harder than I thought it would be. I see I got the eyebrows too low. I completely changed the drawing and position of the hand and arm today. Weird how you can’t see the fix ‘till you get so far in. I tell my students to be willing to change something ‘till the very last stroke as painful as that is.
