They share the passion for volleyball and both of them really love flashy attacks. I bet they could talk for hours about this and honestly, Terushima is totally a candidate for understanding the "guwaah language" Kageyama and Hinata speak.
They’re both easily amazed and also childish and loud. I mean, Kageyama is constantly screaming about things when he’s together with Hinata and I guess for Terushima and the “party team” it’s obvious.
Both of them are confident and have a strong will to improve and to win and could totally learn lots from each other and not only volleyball related things.
They both can get really intense and competitive and they would totally compete over everything and motivate each other a lot.
Terushima is very forward, proactive, talkative and also light-hearted while Kageyama is rather stern and awkward. With Terushima being sociable Kageyama would probably easily warm up to him.
Also, Terushima teasing Kageyama and making fun of him for being always so serious and being really dense sometimes, but of course never in a mean way.
Kageyama is totally someone who endures it when people are loud and hyperactive (like he does with Hinata).
Both of them are people where the first impression is usually not the right one. I’m pretty sure there’s more to Terushima than just being foolish and Kageyama is more than an idiot who’s totally obsessed with volleyball.
Just in general, I think that their personalities would actually go along with each other very well like a good mixture of "opposites attract" and "birds of a feather flock together".
How I think they’d get together:
Kageyama would definitely be too shy to approach him so Terushima makes the first move and gets them to exchange numbers and meet sometime, for example at the mall.
When they actually see each other Terushima always holds the door for Kageyama and insists to treat him to everything and lot of other really gentlemanly stuff to make it obvious that this is supposed to be a date.
After a while Kageyama apparently still hasn't understood so Terushima starts to flirt with him aggressively but Kageyama stays really oblivious.
It's so frustrating that after two months Terushima suddenly blurts something out like "I like you" and Kageyama is really confused and responds with something like "Of course you do or else you wouldn't want to be friends with me"
Terushima completely looses it and confesses with "No, I don't want to be friends with you. I like you romantically. Every single time we met was supposed to be a date and I've been flirting with you all this time and you're just too dense to get it!"
Kageyama's eyes widen in realisation and all he says is "Oh" which makes Terushima even angrier because "What kind of shitty response is that?"
Kageyama eventually says something like "This is good, I guess" in a really low voice which is actually not that much better, but when Terushima sees that Kageyama's cheeks are red and he smiles a little he forgets all his frustration and feels just really warm and happy.
And then they're this really cute couple, always holding hands and bickering and laughing a lot and just being all happy and excited together.
