I do like the idea of OiMiyaKage! It’s pretty much just a combination of my favourite ships and types of ships. I’m always down for rivals to lovers and senpai-kouhai relationships after all.

The things that the OiKage and MiyaKage dynamics have in common are that they are rivals, that they respect each other, that they rile each other up and that these are senpai-kouhai relationships. And in general, Miya and Oikawa simply have a lot in common.

The difference I see between those two relationships is that Kageyama is always chasing after Oikawa and fighting to get on eye-level with him because they’ve met at such an early age which created some kind of power imbalance although Oikawa feels inferior. Kageyama and Miya met way later and are pretty much on eye-level right from the beginning due to the different circumstances. 

Besides those dynamics, I think OiMiya is interesting as well. Once again, rivals and senpai-kouhai relationship but to me it seems pretty different from OiKage and MiyaKage. I guess it’s because Miya and Oikawa have a lot in common and while they are pretty outgoing, sly, charismatic and manipulative, Kageyama is pretty much their exact opposite. 

I can’t really decide whether they’d get along really well with each or not. I see the potential for their personalities to clash A LOT because they’re so similar but they could also be really good together because you know, birds of a feather flock together.

I think the chances that Miya and Oikawa would work out together increases when adding in Kageyama because well, opposites attract. I think he would balance the whole thing a little and keep them grounded. So I guess OiMiyaKage would be pretty good? 

It’s still hard to say much about those ships because we don’t know all that much about Miya yet but well, that’s my two cents. Feel free to talk to me if you have any thoughts on them! ^_^

lol, this a new one! thanks anon. sorry, it’s been taking me so long with these requests. I wasn’t really feeling it this past week.

Oikawa takes a deep breath, closing his eyes fora few seconds allowing him to focus on his serve. He licks his lips, this one feels good.  He steps forward, tosses theball up and jumps. The ball bounces off the palm of his hand and up over theother side of the net, knocking down a water bottle in the corner of the court.“Yes!” Oikawa gives out a victorious cry.“Amazing!” Oikawa freezes; he thought he was the last one left. He turns slowly and facesthe figure under the gym doorway. MiyaAtsumu.Miya grins, knowing recognition when he sees it, “I thought I’d stop by tocheck out the gym before orientation tomorrow. But I didn’t think I’dfind anyone here this late. I’m Miya Atsumu.” he walks towards Oikawa andreaches out to shake his hand.Miya Atsumu. Oikawa knows the name.Too well. On his list of pain-in-the-ass setters to go up against, Miya rankedsecond. Tobio was first. Now, Oikawa had never played against Miya in a matchbut he had watched Nationals. And he noted all the potential rivals who hemight face or even worse attend his university. One of his least favorite beingthe person right before his very eyes.

Oikawa hesitantly reaches forward to shake his hand. A firm hand shake. Henotes that Miya looks taller in person. He sees he has also grown out his hair,no longer sporting an undercut. He remembers asking Iwa-chan if he thought hewould look good in Miya’s haircut to which Iwaizumi only replied with a snortmuch to Oikawa’s annoyance.Miya was talented, that much he couldn’t deny. He had gone to Nationals. Histeam made it in the top four both times he did. But Oikawa thought himselfbetter than Miya; he couldn’t afford to think any less.“Oikawa Tooru, right? Made it as the official setter your first year? That’spretty amazing, you know?” He releases Oikawa’s hand, still sporting the samegrin on his face.“Well, I’m aiming to be the best,”his response coming out with more bite than he intended. Miya laughs though,  if he was offended in any way he didn’t careto show it. “Doesn’t it get lonely practicing by yourself?” Miya asks suddenly, his grinfading. Oikawa forces a laugh, “Serving is a pretty solitary activity.” Lonely? Lonely? What could Miya know?Miya doesn’t push the topic further and instead bends down to pick up avolleyball, “I’ll tell ya what—I’ll help you clean up if you agree to a drinkafter. You seem like you could use a break.”Oikawa wants to say no. He really does. He doesn’t know what to make of Miyaand part of it scares him. He seems genuine, maybe a little too genuine forOikawa’s liking. But the four worded question bores into his mind. Doesn’t it get lonely practicing byyourself?How was it with a four worded question, Miya had begun to chip away atOikawa’s walls that he worked so hard to build up this past year. It’s not thatOikawa hated his teammates. No. He liked them well enough. But his best friendwas hundreds of miles away. And none of his teammates could ever fill that voidenough for him.

“Coffee?” Oikawa asks. Miya nods in agreement,not what he had in mind, but he’ll take what he can get.

Now time for someunnecessary comment…Oh man, Miya gave me an Oikawa mixed with Kuroo vibe. I Ifeel like they would have quite the rivalry between them even though Miya is nogenius he is quite talented (I daresay as good as Oikawa, minus the servingskills) and a year younger than Oikawa. Tbh I think Miya would greatly admireOikawa tho.
