Deathwing returning with an unquenchable vengeance
(im gonna do a drabble about this ok)
Lunastrasza was perched next to Terystrasza, both in their Draconic forms, within the Ruby Dragonshrine. They were merely enjoying each other’s company in a comfortable silence, watching the red scaled beasts flutter through the air elegantly.
Lunastrasza, honestly, had never been happier. Itharius had returned to her, Lystrasz and her had become consorts, Asha had proposed to her. Terystrasza and Chirustrasza had been found. It almost seemed too good to be true.
Suddenly the skies above them darkened, and screams of terror were heard. A large, cracking boom caused Luna to jolt. She had seen this before. On her wedding day.
No. She thought simply.
Then she saw him. Saw the one that she thought had perished all those years ago at the Maelstrom. The one who had taken her consort and her children, her surrogate father, her brothers, her own right eye.
Deathwing emerged from the smoky clouds, molten orange-red eyes burning in fury as he locked onto the white dragoness. “Tery, go, now!" Lunastrasza snapped at her daughter. Terystrasza looked back at her with wide blue eyes. ‘I will not leave you, mother!"
Deathwing swooped down, tattered wings flapping only a few times. “It has been far too long, little pearl. A shame you will not be able to repeat what you did so long ago…at the Maelstrom.”
Terystrasza watched the Aspect of Death with a stunned expression on her pale face.
"Tery—" Luna began but was cut off as her daughter was surrounded by an inferno. There was no scream from her daughter. Just a flash of flame…and then nothing.
"TERY! No…No, Light be damned….no…" Lunastrasza wept, her glimmering eyes turning back to Deathwing. “You…you bastard. YOU BASTARD!” She screamed, leaping at him.
They struggled for a while, but then Deathwing wrapped a paw around her neck, holding her against the massive tree at the center of the shrine. Luna squirmed and clawed and bit but it was no use. He was too strong.
Reaching up his free paw, he extended a long, sharp, dark claw…
Just as he poked it into Luna’s left eye, she jolted up in bed, tears and sweat pouring down her face. She was trembling fiercely, and her breathing came in quick, heavy gasps.
Itharius lay next to her, dead to the world in a deep slumber. She slid out of bed and went down the hallway to Terystrasza’s room, opening the door quietly and seeing her daughter sleeping in her bed. Letting out a relieved sigh, Luna went to her and knelt next to the bed, stroking Tery’s silvery white hair gently.
"I will never, ever let someone like that have you." Luna whispered. "You have my word, my darling."
