Chapter 9: Protection
"Marcel, are you sure this is wise?" Colette questioned him as she handed him a glass of bourbon before taking the open seat on the couch next to the armchair he was in. "He only just defeated you. I don't like you going back into the lion's den so soon."
"So it's better that I let you do it?" he asked incredulously. "Besides, we have Rebekah on our side. She says he wants my allegiance, our allegiance. All we need to do is play the part of advisor."
Colette smirked. "A role that even you didn't even listen to. How can you trust that Klaus will listen to you? I know he cares for you, even raised you like a son. Besides... I don't like lying. And I think he's gotten to know me well enough he'll have to earn it."
Chapter 10: Nevertheless, She Persisted
"You keep a bottle of blood in your purse?" Cami questioned her as Josh started to drink. She nodded. "I get hungry too. Besides, it's better that I keep it in there where no one is going to look versus getting right from the vein. Less messy and much more convenient on long trips." "But what about- Davina?" Cami stopped in the middle of her sentence. All eyes turned on the young witch, though her's seemed to be somewhere else. Colette knew that look. Someone was practicing magic. "Davina?" Colette put a hand on her shoulder, making her body turn to look at her. Davina's hand covered her wrist as she placed it on top, looking up at her with fear. "The witches. They're trying to find me." "Then we have to run," Cami concluded.

Chapter 8: Hallucinations of Family
The memory came to end with a kiss, Elijah practically jumping out of his skin as he came to once more. He shivered, letting out a groan. "Colette, please. This fever. My mind is flooded with these torturous memories. You and Hayley have to leave."
She shook her head. "Not happening. I'm taking care of you until your better and then we'll go back to your place. Until then, I'm staying put."
"There are consequences for those that care. I will not have you pay that price," he said in a tone, a warning.
"It's not your decision who gets to care for you," she said, putting the cloth back on his head after getting it cool once more. "Now, hush or I'll whip up a little potion to knock you out for fifty years. Or was it for fifty minutes?"
He looked at her, unamused. "I'm serious, Colette."
"So am I," she told him. "I'm not going anywhere."
Chapter 7: Hybrids
"Marcel requests your presence at the compound," Elliot told her.
Colette shook her head. "Tell him I decline the invite. If he wants me gone, I need to pack. Tell him I'll be out of the city soon."
"Ms. Claire, it's not a request."
Chapter 6: Unlinking
Colette shook her head, "You know, you'd have made a great leader. I imagine getting them to listen is similar to herding cats."
He smiled, "It can be. Are you upset that I wish for Davina to be the one to unbind Hayley from Sophie Deveraux?"
"Yes," she said. "But I can't think of a witch close by that could help us without Davina finding out and telling Marcel. I just want this to be over with. You must be tired of constant fighting. Does your family even understand the word 'relax?'"
Elijah chuckled as Klaus caught up with them. Maybe this partnership wouldn't be so horrible after all.
