2. Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what do you like to listen to?

Funny you ask, I was just selecting music to write with just before opening this. Generally, with muses like Lovecraft, I like listening to the artist Cryo Chamber, which actually has dark atmospheric music, and even have tracks based off each of the major Lovecraftian gods. They also have a Youtube livestream of ambient music going 24/7.

I’ll also listen to instrumentals from my all time favourite artist, TOOL. Their song ‘Triad’ honestly is the absolute best for a fight scene. I also like the acoustic covers of their songs done by Ernesto Schnack, if I need to calm down and focus before writing something.

3. Are there any particular aus or plots that you’d really like to write?

Well, other than the one where Lovecraft is currently about to beat Tesla’s ass-

Honestly, before I made this blog I didn’t really want to ship Lovecraft with anyone but now I get heart eyes whenever I see Steincraft, and I’ve gotten a couple plots relating to that. 1) The world is more or less ending due to some Great Old Ones bullshit, and Lovecraft takes Steinbeck with him to some pocket of space or perhaps the sea where he can be safe. 2) Some kind of au where Steinbeck makes a contract with Lovecraft to keep his family safe.

Would also like to plot something where Lovecraft visits Yokohama some time after the Guild’s initial failure, only to be confronted by old enemies.

(Also specifically for you, I have a Yog-Sothoth muse that I might bring back just to remind Tesla where he belongs-)

4. What are some of your rp pet peeves?

Honestly, just discourse and drama. Specifically on here, people’s writing styles amaze me and make me jealous. But the second I’ve heard any drama I want out of there.

5. What is the most difficult thing about writing your current muse?

That apart from his reclusiveness, he isn’t like me at all. My other muses I tended to project on a little. Lovecraft I really can’t, so I need to shift into a certain frame of mind to play him properly.

Standing at the raling as Tesla leaned over it and lit a cigarette, Lovecraft peered out at the ocean with his distant relative. Both sets of black hair flitted behind them, maybe the only resemblance one bore to another. The full moon cast a wavering crescent of light over the dark ocean.

Of course he’s talking about Fitzgerald and the Guild. But he says ‘devil’ in a playful way, not in the way one would talk about a devil they actually fear. Maybe Fitz is a devil to some, not all.

He realizes then this is the most peaceful conversation Tesla’s had with him.

“Well we are rather close to a cave system.” He offered, as if that explained why so many of the flying rats were swarming around a building a good several meters from said caves.

Ducking as one of the stupid creatures swept over his head, flying low. Scowling as he watched it fly off into the night he muttered a threat in his native tongue at it as if the thing wasn’t likely rabid and just flailing around in the air randomly.

“Though I will admit these beasts are getting rather... irritating.”

Humanity is like ants. There’s many of them, and they’re fragile little things. They’re organized, and pick leaders without knowing something could stomp them to death in an instant.

But they can be fire ants, as Lovecraft has learned they can hurt like a bitch sometimes if they try hard enough.

Probably his by chance meeting with Fitzgerald. Cthulhu Lovecraft generally isn’t too kind to humans (think a grumpy old man telling you to get off his lawn) but he became more apathetic and less defensive once he gained a Mask and entered the Guild. For the first time, he realized someone other than his worshippers would want him around.

♥ - STAKED - a jarring event, something that changed their life/outlook -

Probably the day everything on R’lyeh perished. He crawled out his hole to find everyone was gone, or laid as corpses on the island, due to a tsunami-induced flood. Everything that had been closest to him was gone, and all those who seemingly cared about him were too far away. He could hear their cries, sense their sacrifices...but he was oh so tired and didn’t want to swim all that far away unless he had to.

ϟ - LIGHTNING - something they thought they’d left in the past, returned

For a long time, no one had stood a chance at beating him. Chuuya changed that. He remembered the days where he fought other beasts and barely remained conscious. And his greater ancestors as well...only those had beaten him to the ground. So his defeat from Chuuya was completely out of left field. And it reminded him of darker days, before he was the first of his generation to descend to earth. Where war was endless among the stars, and he just wanted somewhere to rest...
