''baby, shoes. they go on your feet, not under the table.'' she called out to their two children, amusement filling her tone, slowly unraveling the exhaustion. between co-parenting (or, rather solo parenting this week) and running a practice for counseling, there was little time left for her own things. the knock on the door came right on time, it always did. of course it did. ''you're early, huh?'' her tone was more soft than scolding, yet, the lack of caffeine could've made it sound like that. ''there's coffee, somewhere. i'm just working on packing everything for them. i believe they have early release on friday but i wouldn't blame you if you sent them to after-school care.'' hell, she wouldn't blame them if summer camp wasn't completely off the table. managing two kids by yourself was more than she could handle. ''thank you. for showing up. i know my schedule's been all over the place, so i truly do appreciate it. i guess i could've picked a worse partner, huh?''

tess. it feels like an adventure; your laughter is like music, your eyes like city lights. you're so lighthearted and easygoing that you make everyone around you have so much fun, even in the simplest moments. your heart is a place of amusement parks and fireworks and three a.m. giggles. people feel energized every time they see you, but as much as you love people, it can get pretty draining. remember to take breaks when you need them. you're more than just the comic relief, and you deserve to be just as happy as you make everyone else.

addo. it feels like home; you're the kind of person that makes people feel safe. you probably couldn't be intimidating if you tried, but that doesn't matter. what matters is your kindness and compassion, your innate way of making people feel happy. you're so good at taking care of everybody else, but don't forget to take care of yourself, too! you deserve the same love you give so freely
