Guys, guysss, the beginning of Book 8 is so underrated, seriously Flanagan FEDD us in the span of 15 chapters.

we've got Halt being a badass on the west coast kicking outsider ass, we've got cute gathering moments, we've got Will training apprentices and subconsciously acting exactly like Halt in the meantime.

not to mention cute Uncle Crowley moments with Will and the Special Task Group reveal, and the fact that a large part of the reason Will was so excited to move back to Redmont was because Alyss lived there and he'd get to see her more. And Crowley literally calls him outtt for this because Will was smiling so big at the thought of seeing his girlfriend more often.

NOT TO MENTION the small moment where the 5th year apprentices have their graduation ceremony and Will has that moment of regret for missing out on having a "happy proud family" to wish him well at his own graduation, and as quickly as that thought enters his mind, he's casting it aside because "he had Halt. and Halt was enough family for anyone." AHHHHHH

and then Will sings with Berrigan at the gathering, Will plays a bit, and then very respectfully says, "You've also taught me not to overstay my welcome." PLEASE he's so babygirl. So respectful of Berrigan's time.

THEN we get the Will and Alyss reunion and they're so cute he's holding her hand the entire time they're together ahjgksjdb

THEN we get the SQUADDD AT DINNER TOGETHER???

PAULINE, CROWLEY, ALYSS, WILL, ANDDDD HALT??

and you best believe Halt, diva that he is, showed up late, and Will proceeds to knock over his chair in excitement because he's so excited to see his dad he's like a little puppy dear god.

then of course we get them bear-hugging and we get Halt's annual "I love this kid sm" moment

then they sit down to eat lamb and talk shit, and you best believe they talked shit the entire dinner before they discussed business because that actually happened. Halt said no business till I know whats happening with Rodney and Margaret.

THEN WE GET THE BROTHER REVEAL UGH

and this is only like the first 9 chapters yall this book is underrated, i'm telling you

Will is described throughout the series as having an incredibly quick mind. He catches on to things fast, and his ability to put two and two together is uncanny, Halt literally said in book 9 that he would choose Will over Gilan and Crowley because of how quick he is (not to mention he's his son but whateva)

Berrigan said it, Halt said it, pretty sure Crowley and Arald have said it, Will. is. incredibly. smart.

Which makes his obliviousness all the more funny. Cuz you put this kid in a room of advanced battle strategists and King's councilmen and he can rise to the occasion and catch on to every word, and probably even help them out.

But you put him a situation where an equally as smart, equally as quick-witted, courier is in love with him and has given him every indication that she's in love with him, literally KISSED HIM several times....and he's still not catching the drift??

Hilarious. Comedic perfection. What an adorable little man.

how much do yall wanna bet that all rangers by default eventually get wrinkle lines right above the eyebrow that they raise on a daily basis?

imagine being 25 and already having the expression lines of a deeply disappointed father of five

crowley: years of leadership, politics, responsibility etc etc

halt: not even the stress of his job tbh. it’s just from raising his eyebrow at will every five minutes for fifteen years straight

and then will gets older and suddenly—boom—it hits him too. one day he catches his reflection and realizes he’s doing the exact same expression

full circle moment. horrifying.

thinking about how Will Treaty was almost killed by a wild boar, several Kalkara, several wargals, a rock to the head, a kidnapping, a near deadly trip across the stormwhite sea, a grumpy sea captain with a crazy grudge, LITERAL SLAVERY, a forced drug addiction, bitter freezing deadly cold, a few mean Temujai, an army of mean Temujai, (two different events btw) full on heatstroke in the desert, (not to mention the lion that almost ate him and instead took his horse) AND angry desert people that nearly killed him and his friends.

all before he even graduated.

And he still decided to do all that for the rest of his life?? to protect people??

fuck canon, Will and Alyss have a daughter and her name is Adelaide and she goes by 'Lady' and she's the cutest sassiest thing ever and all the rangers have adopted her as their own

silly little concept for u: sailor will x mermaid alyss. i’m picturing keren’s blue stones being encrusted into her skin/tail… maybe keren’s even holding her captive like in SoM

i also just felt like you’d enjoy thinking about sailor will <3

ya know.. i'm not against this idea, the stones in her tail is a cool concept.

however someone's out there thinking of sailor Will, and then thinking i would enjoy that idea and i'm not sure if i'm against that either
