It's A Small World || Dakota + Tessa
Dakota was lucky that his cell phone was able to pick up bars here. Whiteridge was pretty far away and the route he took was barren for quite a while. He was actually convinced for more than half the drive over that he'd willingly subjected himself to some form of Amish resort where there was no power or running water, that's how far empty the backroads were. But he was pleasantly surprised to see how different the town was to his initial thoughts. 'Maybe I should stop assuming so much.' He had told himself, pulling into a parking lot to look around.
It didn't take long to figure out that the South Neighborhood was the place for him. Low rent, he doubted anyone from his past would even dare to live there. It was safe and hopefully, his new home. Thanks to a very nice stranger online, he was set to move into an empty housing unit beside hers. Dakota hoped that she wasn't insane. Maybe assuming had kept him safe. Adrian would have never agreed to live somewhere without thorough research and planning. Then again, Adrian no longer existed. 'I'm Dakota now.' He had to keep reminding himself.
Following her instructions, Dakota walked up to what seemed like a fairly normal series of housing units. 'Okay. You can do this.' He let out a shaky breath before knocking on her door.
