Studying for Finals Techniques for @anthonynguyenn
Tried to stick this in your ask box. Was gonna be too long. Figured I'll just tumblr post it.
As for studying for finals, I say have a good study schedule, lay out on a piece of paper exactly what you're studying that day or for the block of hours what have you, and try to stick to it.
Have a sort of schedule where you study for about 40 minutes straight (no distractions) and do something else completely unrelated for 20 mins afterwards.
I also recommend resting when you already feel like your brain isn't absorbing info anymore. It's like you keep doing something, and when you hit a limit your capacity to absorb information is lower. So try to rest every now and then, this is why you don't wait till last minute to study.
Find a method of studying that allows you to retain as much info as possible. Like my previous post, I mentioned how me writing everything by hand helps me remember the information. That can be different for anyone, so find a style that works for you.
If you have a study guide, stick to it.
UW EOP: Students or people with tutoring centers at their University: (specifically UW in this one) Go to the IC Tutoring center (pink building) for anything that you need, because they have a lot of tutoring sessions for undergrad classes. They don't have them for 200+ or 300+ (I forgot) classes, so take advantage while you can.
Try to not cram last minute. You'll barely retain info that way.
ON TEST DAY. Don't forget to eat something 30 minutes before your test, it's kinda crucial for brain activity. Get plenty of rest, even though I know that's kinda hard, you gotta try to get some rest.
Good luck! :D
