Test/Fitting shoes 

For those who order my Aurum shoes or Bespoke, I provide a fitting shoe before I make the client's final shoes. This fitting shoe is based on the client's measurements and on the kind of toe shape and length he wants.  I make a personalised last for the client and then make a Blake stitched fitting shoe on the new last. This fitting shoe is something that the client can wear to work, it is a finished shoe.  Once the client has fitted and worn the test shoe and there are little/no adjustments needed, I then proceed to make the final shoe.

nb. The fitting shoes do not have the interior work of my Aurum shoes, such as finer toepuffs and heel counters etc.

A fitting/test shoe.

When a client orders an Aurum shoe from me, and if appears that the client's foot and the last (the shape of the shoe) that they have chosen are not a perfect fit, I offer to personalize a last for the client based on the measurements.  I then construct a test Blake welted shoe made on the new personalized last for the client to try and ensure that the fitting is correct. Afterwards, I can construct the final handwelted shoe.  The fitting/test shoe is in all considerations a finished shoe that the client can wear every day.
