Different types of testosterone gels I've tried in the last couple years

Testogel: pro - dries faster than the other kinds. con - ??? Is a lot of gel to rub in, maybe, idk

Testavan: pro - comes with an applicator thingy so you don't get it on your hands (tho I use my wrists anyway so that's no issue). con - different type of alcohol gel burns my arms?!? (maybe I have sensitive skin but???)

Tostran: pro - smaller dose per pump, can be more accurate. con - takes a thousand years to dry (this is okay if you enjoy hanging around in sleeveless tops and/or don't have anywhere to be)

Overall pro: yay testosterone and no needles!

Overall con: they all have the same fucking name and it's very confusing. Also if you're me you may be late to work every day due to timing issues (can't get dressed til the gel is dry)

I use a transdermal gel called Testavan due to a phobia of needles. I know it always comes across as cheesy, but this shit has saved my fucking life. Before I started I was spiralling into depression, was underweight, and I could count on one hand the number times I’d been gendered correctly by strangers.

Now I have the body hair, the deep voice, the muscle, even the acne and spots are positives in my mind because they’re all a part of who I should have always been. My beard’s filling in and I think is the part I’m most proud of. I feel like I’m never gonna to want to shave this thing! :D

There have of course been instances of transandrophobia. A nurse who was always lovely to me pre-transition began to fuck the blood draws up so badly post that I had to change nurse. I was rejected from an NHS dental surgery and had to go private at my own expense just to see to the wisdom teeth that had become too painful to put off any longer.

The community I’ve found on this site has given me confidence and the knowledge that I’m not alone in what I’ve been through and continue to go through. Together we are strong and can help give voice to the people who haven’t reached the point where they feel able to speak up.

I've never recieved a box of testavan that didn't look like someone had thrown it down the stairs wtf is up with that
