Common Causes of Testosterone Deficiency
Testosterone deficiency causes low energy levels, diminished sexual desire, unhealthy mood and male impotence. It affects many males, but a majority of cases go undiagnosed and untreated. Though the disorder will occur at birth, only few male youngsters are born by it. The main reasons for testosterone deficiency are damages or diseases affecting a mans testicles, pituitary glands and hypothalamus. Primary testosterone deficiency results from testicular failures and are commonly due to undescended testicles, mumps affecting testicles, overproduction of iron, testicular injuries, Klinefelter's syndrome and radiation and chemotherapy for cancer. Secondary testosterone deficiency is caused by hypothalamic and pituitary gland failures and are commonly triggered by HIV/AIDS, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, inflammatory disease, pituitary disorders and hypothalamic injuries, and a variety of pain.
