Forgive me if this theory has already been rotating in circles I’m not privy to, but… The knight Kris’s knife.

Black knife? It’s a physical manifestation of the idea of stabbing your blade into the earth. The false Gerson fight parallels it in being a corrupted idea of a lightener who was alive (it being a corrupted version of maybe Dess?). It wields a massive sword— and the only thing in Kris’s inventory that’s been mysteriously missing to the player is their knife.

Got my work done beautifully today as I remembered that I actually enjoy compositing. Evil professor almost made me forget that. Now everybody is looking at me like I’m super awesome and good at everything and I’ll never have to deal with my irritating teammates ever again. Joy!!
