I’m holding out for Michael to not actually be dead

i’m pretty sure you’re not alone in that. funny enough, as much as i love michael and would give anything to rewind time so that we can have him back and have our villadero ending, i really really don’t want him to be alive if it’s going to be in our current timeline and here is why:

i really, truly don’t think any version of that could possibly end well for jane/michael. here is what we know about michael’s death: he collapsed in the middle of the exam room after taking a test, and then jane was told he died due to complications related to his gunshot wound in 2.24. and all i can think of is that if his death was fake? he was in on it. he had to have been. and i think it would be extremely hard for jane to reconcile this because damn, she mourned him for years. and it turns out to be fake? is that something jane would be able to get past? realistically, i’m doubtful. what good enough, acceptable, forgivable excuse could there possibly be to let your wife think you’re dead? it feels out of character to me for michael to do something like that to jane through his own will even if he was being threatened tbh.

and i guess there is the off chance that someone drugged him or something, in which case he would’ve had no choice / say in the matter, which is possible given it’s a telenovela but there is still this to consider: the fact that everything. every single thing that has happened since michael died is CLEARLY pointed to jafael being endgame. starting from being best friends, texting all day and all night, the chummy clearly non-platonic huggin even when he was with petra, the glow of jane’s heart that filled the room, the whole not 100% over him because 100% is a huge number, rafael living in the villanueva house so that he can become closer to them, rafael losing his money so that his entire perspective regarding it can be changed, all the ralba stuff, the upcoming raf/ro stuff, ALL the recent jafael scenes??? all of which would be pointless if that’s not what they’re going for like, they’re REALLY taking so much effort to force them build them up and i mean, they’re steadily giving jane feelings for rafael (not the other way around, mind you. it’s currently JANE who has feelings for him) and if michael is gonna be alive again? what’s the point of that? so that we can have a repeat of that triangle? no thank you.

also if you read on any of jennie’s interviews, you’ll be easily able to tell that she’s a jafael trash. pretty sure there are some where she explicitly says so too. (i read this interview with the cast where they all voted and gina, yael, andrea, jaime, brett voted team michael, and then justin and our dearest head writer jennie urman voted team rafael and if that isn’t a dead giveaway… i mean lol) even when michael was alive. and more so after that. aside from that, we do know for a fact that gina is 500% team michael, she’s expressed it countless times and yet ever since michael died she’s been promoting jafael lowkey. if you’ve seen any of her stuff prior? she always explicitly says she’s team michael and goes on to explain why. now she’s like jane and raf have a connection etc etc, clearly they’re making her subtly promote the ship. so idk. i’m just really doubtful and don’t really trust it to end the way we’d want if that were the case.

and so i guess, in a way, i’d rather keep his memory like that than have him come back and let the writers have an opportunity to ruin our beautiful ship, if that makes sense? that’s just me though. clearly i’m pessimistic because i don’t really trust the jtv writers anymore as of late. but we’ll see.
