Apologies to anyone who follows me for art or dragons lol - I just need to have a lil scream.
I absolutely despise what’s happening to Twitter, but there’s like nowhere else to go. Tumblr’s tagging system is horrendous and I can’t rely on it for actually showing my posts, whereas at least on Twitter I have a much higher chance of visibility even without hashtags.
And the other half - I’ve got a lot of online friends I keep in touch with there (some more loosely than others lol) in a way that doesn’t make my anxiety flare up like DMs do. So I don’t want to abandon it and essentially migrate entirely to Discord or the like; the buffer of public interaction keeps my social anxiety at bay, funnily enough. DMs can feel too personal when it’s just one on one, and it feels worse if you’re not super close and convos can wind up trailing off awkwardly. I’m very chronically shy and introverted to begin with so it takes me a while to open up beyond shared interests .-.
So I’m just... sad, I guess? Seen so many posts of people deactivating/jumping ship and I’m not willing to do the same for the bonds I’ve fostered through Twitter and my presence there - sure I don’t have oodles of followers but most of them are either friends or like what I post and can more easily interact with me on it. And vice-versa: interacting with people/things I like is also much easier. I don’t condone anything the headass in charge has done - and will keep doing - there’s just nowhere else to turn, for now :/
