Internet slang #1
Alright guys the end of the semester is nearing and I’ll finally be able to post more on here but just a heads-up: I’m gonna stop apologizing every time I take too long to come back because it’s every post now lol. Anyways here’s a lil thing about internet/texting slang - it’s probably going to be a series because you can never run out of material on the matter :DDD
Mdr = “mort de rire” = dying/dead of laughter
Ptdr = “pété(e) de rire” = broken by laughter/broken laughing
These would be the equivalents of lmao or rofl in English. You can add more r’s at the end, the more you add the more you’re supposedly laughing lol (just like lmao can become lmaoooo)
Examples (informal language obv, if you need a “formal” version of the examples please tell me)
“Alors, ça s’est passé comment ton exam ?”
“Mdrrr je l’ai foiré frère mon semestre est foutu”
“So, how did your exam go?”
“Lmaooo I messed it up bro my semester’s screwed”
“J’ai croisé ta mère ce matin mais quand elle m’a vu elle est repartie dans l’autre sens mdrr” “Ptdrr elle m’a raconté en fait c’est juste qu’à chaque fois vous finissez par parler pendant 1h et elle avait pas le temps aujourd’hui”
“I ran into your mom this morning but when she saw me she went the other way lmaoo”
“Lmfaoo she told me, actually it’s just that you end up talking for 1hr every time and she didn’t have the time today”
