When the journey started,

My old self had departed.

On a magnificent trip of revelation

To unbind my core and undergo transformation

And she came upon you.

With a first impression I knew,

Your kind, sweet, considerate nature

And I'm so glad you've accompanied me on my adventure

Still, I have far to go,

And battles to undergo

With the world and myself

With all of the memories I've pushed back on the shelf

But I want you to know,

I intend to give you quite a show

The journey is easier, through high or through low

Because I have your love in tow

All you do for me

Is something worth cherishing, I do see.

And while I am on the go, know it's my heart you hold

With depths of thanks and passion yet untold.

My heartbeat quickens pace

Expectations split asunder

As I'm captivated by your grace

When the world struggles to know,

What I won't show,

For you my heart is laid bare

You can hold it close, feel it pulse, even take its tare

To feel you close,

To get my dose

Of what makes my mind feel happy and warm

You inspire me

I hope you can see

Thoughts of you bring calm to many a mental storm

So take my heart

Because while we're apart

It aches and yearns for more

And thoughts of us and who we are

Though there is no scar

Have pierced me to the core

The ring of a bell

The roar of the crowd

Signifies a match, a place for aggression to swell.

The kind that is normally hidden behind a shroud

Of social convention, of etiquette and poise

It's a time to get primal, a time to make some noise.

A hook, a sweep, a club with which enemies are beat

Senseless indulgence, a place for great feats

And even though, it's framed as a show,

Deep down we all know

They're here because they feel the competitive heat.

To be the best, and deal out defeat.

And when it's all done, and we've all had fun.

We get to see who is number one.

A trophy, a medal, a title, a plaque.

For these things they'll cut nobody slack

The greatest of all time, that's what they'll say

Until the next time they enter the fray.

Turmoil

Is infertile soil

For the seeds of mental peace

It will often lead to feelings that are misplaced

When the self fighting stops, and all is calm

And the mind has tilled

The place conflict filled

Then the mind can find peace, without any qualms.

It can take a long time

To clear all the grime

And the stains it leaves behind

Often leaves marks, to which oneself is blind

But with perseverance it is hoped

That it can all be topped

With beautiful thoughts, ones that don't hurt.

Once it's all done

And the damage undone

You can start to reclaim the happiness that has been forgone.

When the project is in danger

And the world's too dumb for their own good

He gathers his plans, and he gathers his pride.

He gathers his recruits, his fighters, his brutes

Then he takes the means of production, his army can wait no longer.

They will be metal, they will be stone, they will be wood.

With new life, and his drive they will stomp out the world's insubordinance, those reprobates

His will to correct this silly world only growing stronger

By fire, by blade, by spinning top

He aims to see the world stop

To acknowledge his greatness, uh, you're welcome you know.

When he's on his game, only one thing to do

Better call the hero in blue.

That squeamy feeling in your chest

The way someone else can just make you feel the best.

Without question. Without hesitation.

Support, trust, good times, and comfort

A smile or laugh to brighten a day.

Will have you watching in fixation

Focus, pleasure, tender, effort

Together, keeping the world at bay

... And planting togetherness shrubberies

There is no force,

That could push or worse

To destroy what was reinforced

by togetherness, willing to fully endorse.

Someone to hold

A warm kindness, a welcomed heart

Someone with whom to share my art

And not just art, but ups and downs

A presence that would melt the most serious of frowns

Tender demands, red hot grace

A rock, an anchor, a comfortable place

And a warlord of love, coming in hard like a mace

Swinging for the fences, a charming ace

Simmering sugar, a pleasant treat

And don't forget the gentle heat
