iwtb is so annoying bc on one hand it's the one time mulder and scully are indisputably together in a romantic sense, essentially married, so ofc as an msr girlie you WANT to like it. so if you're like me you try to convince yourself it's good but when you actually sit down and think about it's so fucking bad. so scully literally begs mulder to take a case with the fbi, then she gets mad when he starts to enjoy it and tells him to stop? like okay? and you can say "scully is depressed because of everything and projecting that onto mulder" and then yes, that makes sense. but does the movie attempt to dig into that? does it attemp to show us what happened to them emotionally after they had to run from the government after giving up their son? no. they have to sympathize with a pedophile instead. that's what cc thought was a good ideas. 😖
