So i have an idea that 13 primes created 13 titans to help them fight Unicron. Each equipped with a tCog, an alt mode and free throughts.

Each titan can only be active if woken up by the matching key. Key slits are mostly located on the back of their necks.

Here is Maximo's titan, Nebula. Nebula was one of the only bots who genuinely loved Maximo, and got the same genuine treatment back from him.

Maximo might have spoiled his titan a little, giving Nebula sweet treats every day: cookies, lollipops, ice creams, fruit drops... everything one can imagine. Because of it, Nebula started to strongly associate his owner/friend with sugary items, which later turned into an entire sugar addiction.

After the incident, almost all the primes turned their attention to Nebula, wishing to destroy him with Maximo of pure hatred. To prevent it, Maximo welded Nebula's key in the socket, so it can't be possibly taken out, ever. Then both fled far away from Cybertron and got separated after another chain of events. Nebula later finds out that items with high sugar content trigger comforting emotions in him, and begins to raid cargo ships for anything that might contain even a little bit of sugar to fill out the gaping hole of loneliness in his spark, becoming the patient zero of later wide-spread "cybertronian sugar addiction". The only upside is that not a single spark was physically hurt during his raids. (If you don't count the mental damage of watching a giant crying robot devour ≈100 tons worth of candy with the packaging in one sitting that is)

Nebula will later move on to get to know 007 (Prima's overpowered genetic experiment that fled the lab and became a sorta space pirate), and to help Megatronus guide her onto a better path in life. They bond and become close friends for life.

May I should write nebula and apricot being gay

Apricot’s just this sweet and silly little thing most of the time but if you get him pissed he is liable to start hitting things with a metal chair and I just imagine that Nebula would stop being able to think if he saw that.

And Nebula’s all spikes and snark and sarcasm and violence but 8/10 times the violence is in service of protecting the people he loves. 2/10 times it’s violence for the sake of violence still but who doesn’t like a little recreational violence now and then (a lot of people actually)

Unlike IDA, pretty much all the position switches are due to circumstance. They were mostly all on track for their 'normal'/planned lives, but something happened and now they're somewhere they never really expected to be.

If Nova and Nebula had just stayed with the goddamn Tree, most of this shit probably wouldn't have happened. But I can't blame them for leaving, either.

Twist of Fate JMV/DINTIS: Fun Facts

Will probably be updated as the AU develops

It is crucial that Meteor and Antares cared for each other. And they cared for each other a lot. They were siblings and best friends. But Antares refusing to hurt Singularity felt like a huge betrayal to Meteor. And now Antares will never have a chance to make things right.

Asterism has a crush on the (comparatively) tiny pale spearwoman who’s experiencing emotions for the first time ever. Teide is completely oblivious to the fact that she’s being flirted with. Should Asterism stop being a useless lesbian (silly) and tell Teide point-blank she wants to go on a date with her, Teide might say yes, along with some variation of “I don’t know how I feel about you but I’m willing to try things out”. It won’t work out in the end because Teide’s aroace, but she didn’t know that before. And now she does

Something gay as hell is happening with pyxis and vela and neither of them have time to think about it. So they’re just like. Doing casual “couple” things and still calling each other friends. With some vague feeling of ‘maybe we could be something else…?’ but no actual idea of what and they don’t bother dwelling on it. There could be a platonic explanation for this, but there isn’t.

Nova/Nebula aro/ace solidarity weeeeeee

Singularity, should she ever get to interact with either of them often, loooves trying to piss them off. Unfortunately they’re mostly immune. Vandalizing the flag she and the whole village associated with them and making it her cape + symbol of her reign? Sucks you’re using as a symbol for your fucked up shit but objectively goes hard as hell. Shit-talking the villagers? They loudly and enthusiastically join in. she’s fighting a losing battle there.

Since Nova and Nebula were intended to guard one half of the tree each, and Singularity was supposed to guard the whole thing, she tends to call herself the 'true' guardian of the tree.

And it first it was probably an attempt to make people stop comparing her to them, then became something she'd tell herself whenever she felt like she was somehow Less than them.

She only started to believe it after she fucked it over. like. "Yeah, I'm better than they were. I was the better Guardian. And now I have all the apples, so I'm not even fucking up the balance! Those two just ran off without a word and left the Tree to fend for itself. Unlike me, who fucked it up for making me guard the thing. fucked it up so bad i made sure no one else could take its power and use it for evil like I'm doing now lol"

Antares used to believe it, and tbh probably still does.

and that 'true guardian' talk is probably the one of the few things related to the Tree and the Village that really pisses Nova off. girl you weren't even there first shut the fuck up? also destroying it is definitely worse are you stupid? delusional? just trying to piss me off? (secret fourth option: all three)

Twist of Fate JMV/DINTIS: The (main) Story So Far

not including how people joined the team or resistance

Nova and Nebula once guarded a magical tree. Because of their jobs, though, they weren’t really treated as people. Nova in particular experienced a lot of abuse and harassment from the village nearby. 

And so, finally, after about 20 years and several more weeks of planning and worrying over whether it would cause the end of the world at some point, they left. Just packed up their shit, took an apple each, and split in the middle of the night. 

It was great. For a while. They traveled around, seeing new places and meeting new people. They eventually went their separate ways, because Nebula decided he wanted to stay somewhere while Nova wanted to keep traveling, but they kept in touch. It was like they were normal people finally.

But the Tree did not like that its guardians had left. Since it couldn’t drag them back to do their jobs, it did the next best thing:

Create a new guardian.

Singularity was intentionally created to be neutral; inert. The Tree hoped this meant that she wouldn’t be harassed into running away, and it… it technically worked. Sort of.

Singularity was born with the physical body of a young child, and the language skills, mental and emotional maturity (or lack thereof), and general Existence Knowledge of a child her apparent age. This was done in the hopes that, if anyone did still try shit, the kid could do something.

Her being so young is the only reason she wasn’t accused of getting rid of Nebula. 

But they compared her to him.

And Nova.

Constantly.

At first they thought she’d be just as ‘helpful’ as Nebula, but when she kept insisting she needed to stay by the tree they thought maybe she’d be like Nova instead. But she never caused any trouble, either. And they just…kept going back and forth.

“Why can’t you be like Nebula?”

“I’m glad you’re nothing like Nova.”

“You can be almost as nice as Nebula when you want to be.”

“You’re almost as anti-social as Nova was.”

Unsurprisingly, this infuriated her.

One day a pair of siblings moved into town. The older one, Meteor, wasn’t particularly friendly to anyone at first, but had an interest in weapon crafting. The younger one, Antares, was about Singularity’s apparent age, and they never compared her to the other two guardians. They became friends pretty quick.

Singularity was very happy to have a friend! 

But after a few years, once they were adults, she heard Antares and Meteor. 

Antares had been meant to gain her trust to get her out of the way. Meteor had created a weapon designed specifically to kill a spirit like her, and they were going to use it on her when she had her guard down so they could take the apples.

Antares had long since decided they didn’t want to hurt Singularity, but had been trying to hide it from Meteor. They’d be doing a pretty good job; it was pretty easy to convince them that Singularity refused to let her guard down when so many people around them seemed to always have ulterior motives. But Meteor discovered that this was not the case, and was confronting them about it. 

This conversation very efficiently obliterates all trust that Meteor and Singularity had in Antares.

When Singularity eventually eats the apples, wrecks shit, and runs off, Antares and Meteor are the only survivors, and they get separated.

Antares ends up staying with a small, loud, aggressive lady named Pulsar, who is the captain of the local military. She also lets this tale pale dude named Comet stay, and the three of them become good friends. can you imagine Cross Sans bunking with UF Sans and US Alphys in Alphys’ house though. So many questions

Anyway. While Antares is making new friends, Meteor finds themself near a whole new Tree of Feelings. And this one has two guardians. 

Meteor made another weapon, but this one was much weaker. They didn’t have all the materials and magic they needed to make it as powerful as the other one. It should have been enough to deal with this Tree’s guardians, though.

Unfortunately for Meteor, Vela and Pyxis were on high alert for people trying to attack them. Vela especially. As time went on, the villagers got more and more aggressive with him, and while they hadn’t done anything yet, he and Pyxis heard some people talking about trying to get rid of him. It kind of sounded like it wasn’t serious, but Vela didn’t trust that it wouldn’t evolve into an actual murder plot. And Pyxis couldn’t blame him

They were trying to form a plan to either dip or make sure they couldn’t actually hurt Vela when Meteor appeared. Meteor clearly didn’t care about the guardians so much as the apples themselves, and the pair really didn’t want to run off and leave the Tree undefended.

Well. Mostly Pyxis didn’t. And he didn’t want to leave it undefended even when there wasn’t an obvious threat to it. But Vela sure as fuck wasn’t going to leave Pyxis to defend it alone.

And soon enough, Meteor does try to kill them.

And fails. Instead, they manage to hit the Tree itself. 

Meteor doesn’t live much longer after that, and their weapon is destroyed, but the damage is done.

The Tree is dying.

Vela and Pyxis managed to find a way to keep it alive and stable, but it’s still slowly dying. And as it withers away, so do the apples, and the balance. They're doing everything they can to find a way to save it. It's going okay, but not great. While they're finding ways to keep it alive longer, they still haven’t found any permanent solutions. They're getting closer, though.

Nova has promised to try and help them with their problem, in exchange for help with Singularity, but they can't focus on two things at once so for the most part Vela and Pyxis mind their tree and Nova minds his resistance.
